Need for Speed Pro Street

These is what i use to play Hi Def games, its a monster PC I have build my self, and let me tell you, the game don't run as good as i'll want. i can't believe you need something bigger than these to play it at it best, you know that's how we all like to play, not a medium resolution bulls***. these game just sucks a fat D**K !!!

* ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Edition Motherboard
* AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core Overclocked to 3.6 GHZ CPU
* Corsair PC-3500LL Pro 4GB Overclocked to 500 Mhz Memory Modules
* Sound Blaster Xtreme Fidelity Fatality Champion Series Sound Card
* 2 BFGtech GeForce 8800 Ultra Overclocked Edition PCI-Express Video Cards in SLI at Full Power.
* Thermaltake BigWater 760i Water Cooling System
* 2 SATA Raid 0 Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives
* Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition 64 Bit Optimize to hell to run insanely fast

and the list goes on and on, and these game seems to need a better machine to run better, which i think that makes it the biggest s***....

even thouhg in the pic is a air cool system for the CPU that's an old pic, i have replace it with the water cooled system to overclock the CPU to make run faster..

I'm running it at 1680x1050 on a self-built machine, but it's not nearly as good as yours. I'm not sure about my FPS but I'm not too picky about that as long as it's consistent 25fps or more.

What about Pro Street doesn't run well for you? Are you trying to get 100fps out of it?

Are you sure you have your Windows optimized? Turn System Restore off? Turn indexing service off? Not running anti-virus while gaming?

If you want the game to run faster first of all dump that AMD chip and mobo on ebay. Then get some kind of Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad core processor and overclock that. You may also want to go back to Windows XP, games suffer a lot on Vista. There are a few patches that MS released to fix gaming performance but even then it's still not on par with Windows XP. Those patches also don't show up in windows update, you gotta search for them manually (atleast that was the case when I was playing with Vista a few months ago). There's a couple patches for SLI and there's also a couple general 3D gaming performance patches.

I have a feeling its that Vista s***... You have built a system and you are only running half its potential if that... To be honest, all I see there is alot of money not being used... But none the less, nice cards.

believe men, im a computer freak and know every single tweak for windows and to make the system to run insanely fast, that game just run like s***, also the carbon don't run gun, but i just think and i have read that those games don't like Dual Core Processors, that's why it runs like s*** no matter what you have in your PC..... i have everything optimize to the max and i still don't like how it runs...also i Call of duty 4 Collectors edition which is a really insane in graphic game, and i can run it at full res with no problem.. also I have DIRT, which i think is one of the baddes and sickiest Graphic Racing game out there and it plays a full Hi Def Res like water... it looks so good that i get dizzy sometimes when i play, that s*** look so real on my 3 22" monitors that i can just play for 15 minutes before i get a deep ass headache

Heh, sometimes graphics can be too good huh?

DIRT chugs a little on my machine, more than Pro Street does.

hahaha... Keep Intel for you buddie, i hate that s***. too much money for a what it does... AMD for the price perform very good.. by the way the Quad core it's bulls***, they are not real quad cores.. wait until AMD Phenom comes out, they are the first real quad core CPU at 3 times cheaper than INTEL... people have the real wrong concept about AMD, amd have always been better than Intel, and im not the only one that says it believe.... by the way i know the FX-60 Socket 939 it's already old. the fastest right now AMD have is the Socket 240 AM2 AMD Athlon 64 6400+ Black Edition at a stock clock of 3.6 ghz overclockable to 4 ghz on water.. believe me everything that shines is not gold.. Intel Sucks, and much more for the price....

I like pro street. Better than forza 2 that game sucked ass compared to the first one. I don't play alot of video games these days.

Games I have been playing though are pro street and blitz at my friends house. Blitz is one of the all time best games, so fun.

Well, I do agree with the AMD, but I am running an 8500 512m, with 2gigs of ram with a stock clock dual core 3.6ghz. COD4 runs at full resolution, along with black edition, and mostly any game on the market right now. I have no problems.

Believe me, I'll take the 6400+ Black Edition over the most expensive Intel out there anytime, just think about it. AMD have been competing against Intel having less Ghz Speed,, how is that ? amd have always been behind in ghz speed but that doesn't mean it slower, they are actually perform better than the intels, just look at it these way, the 6400+ its a 90 mn techonoly and is still competing agains Inte's 45 mn or what ever you call it today.. wait until AMD's new CPU's comes out... hahaha Intel Prepare that ass cause is gonna hurt alot and for long time at a cheaper price !!!!!

Welcome to the world of different architecture. Clock speed on an AMD doesn't necessarily measure the same number of calculations as it does on Intel. Also, you're wrong: the Pentium M CPU had a much lower clockspeed than the AMDs of its day (like a year and a half ago) and were faster.

No.

It has come out and it's slightly behind in performance.

Check framerates and how they relate to CPUs here:

Check their general findings about the newest AMD Quad Core compared to the slowest Intel Quad Core here:

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/11/19/the_spider_weaves_its_web/page42.html

The fastest chipsets available to the consumer right now are the Core 2 Duo's and the Quad Cores. And yes, they really are quad core CPU's. I know in some groups it's cool to hate on Intel because AMD seems like "the little guy" in the CPU battle, but right now (and since the Core 2 Duo came out) Intel is making the much better product.

Keep Licking Intels Ass, and keep thinking they are better... no wonder they have so much money, cause people like you paid so much for their CPU.. i can tell you one thing, AMD has always been ontop of Intel ass developing better CPUs and a great price, Right now AMD its a little behind cause they are developing a CPU that its going to put everyone in place....INTEL Can suck a Fat you know what.....

intel. FTW. wish I could get one of the quad core extremes. Not saying AMD sucks but they are slower.

its funny how Intels Xtreme Quad Core CPU are still being compared to the Old FX-60 and the performance of the FX-60 its near the xtreme and the xtreme beats it in just a few things. just imagine when the Phenom CPUs comes out, Intels ass its going to hurt so much and at a lower price...

I think I would have gone the AMD route but I get the lastest intel engineering samples as they come out. Still waiting for the quad core ES comes available. Right now I'm running a E6700 @ 3.66ghz, the slowest part of my machine is the weak dual x850xt videos cards. Sh1t I don't even play games on my computer. Essentially its just a $3000 dollar DVD player LOL. But i had fun building it.

Believe me, Intel aint all that s*** people thinks, and much less for the price, look at their Pentium 4 Fiasco, they wanted to make something faster than AMD and they ****** it up, recently the 60 nm came out, and fast did the 45 nm CPU, they are just affraid AMD its coming out like always with something to kick Intels ass, they have done it since always... and awesome prices... Intel can burn in hell with their fake ass quad cored 12mb L2 cache xtreme CPUs.. AMD all the way.... **** intels monopoly...

I don't think Intel was afraid, seems more like AMD was with how fast they pushed the Phenom out. There's even a nice "feature" of the cpu that makes your computer unstable. They pushed it out too fast and that little bug slipped past the QA team. The bug is only present on the B2 stepping Phenoms. This is the first time in my 10+ years of experience with computers that I've ever heard of a cpu released with a bug that makes your computer unstable. You can read about that here:

Sorry if I came off as attacking your AMD processor before when I said to get rid of it. I have nothing against AMD, I used to have an Athlon 64 before my Core 2 Duo. I'm not loyal to any brand, whatever gives me the best framerate in games is what I'm gonna buy. At the time when I upgraded my computer Intel was that brand, and still is. The Intel processors may cost a bit more but they will give you a better framerate in most games.

Oh, and why do you even make the argument about AMD processors being cheap? Obviously you've got tons of money, 2x 8800 Ultras, 3x 22" inch monitors, and those FX processors were never really that cheap.

But yeah... if you wanna get the best possible framerate in games, go Intel and go back to Windows XP. Atleast pick up the Athlon X2 6400+ black edition if you're gonna be a die hard AMD fanboy.

Dude, what? You're wrong. You were right maybe two years ago, but you're wrong now. AMD is behind in speed and offering their chipsets at budget prices to compete. I linked you a study on their LATEST AND GREATEST CHIPSET that was released AFTER THE CORE 2 DUO. I don't ascribe to either particular brand, I just pick whatever is better. Right now, it's Intel.
