What have you done to your P5 today?

Installed a super uber cool drain plug from Advance Auto...mine fell off while driving AFTER 5000 MILES. WTF! But yeah. My car had its first period. And still waiting on putting on the pulleys that Brach had made.

lol nice. Yeah, mines coming up on an oil change and I believe im going to seafoam, change plugs, oil and finally put in the yellow fog bulbs i have....

hurry up and put that intake in so i can have the old one! lol :p
Today, assuming I feel better later on, I'll probably give the P5 some much deserved TLC. Oil change (mmm, castrol syntec is yummy), replace my fog lights (one's burnt out) so my car will no longer be a triclops, and probably clean the K&N filter and install the Injen CAI I've had sitting around.

lol these are things you usually do right after buying a used car :p

speaking of that....I need to do that when i change the oil in the P5 next time...

Aw crap. I am a new car noob. I forgot all about replacing that stuff when I bought it. (boom07)

I haven't changed mine. But They put Bosch Platinums in when I had bought the car. But I have put 50,000 miles on the car so time to change them out.

Cylinder 3 is running NGK gapped at

bahahahaha ass nugget... I found it...

its BKR5E-11's for stock length and ZFR5E-11 for the extended reach which most people switch too....

anyone running the z's on 87octane w/ out problems?
Yes. It's part number "go to autozone and ask for NGK V-powers for a 2001-2003 protege5 and they'll get the right ones" :p

It's even worse seeing it a second time(lol) Muff's pet peeve

So, the gapping on that plug is not right? That's from when cylinder 3 went dead after snapping both plugs off the purge solenoid. I can't wait to see what number 4 looks like now, cause that's the cylinder that's misfiring now.

um....that plug looks like it had some detonation issues or it got nailed by the piston...the gap is non existent...

The mechanic thinks something worked it's way into the cylinder and the piston used whatever it was to beat the crap out of that plug. He put in a new plug and it ran great, until I would go fill up the gas tank, then it'd sputter and die for about 5-10 minutes but would be fine after that.

Filled up with gas lastnight, started, sputtered, cell came on, and was running on 3 cylinders.

I almost wish it woulda cracked the block. Woulda had it taken into the dealer and have em quote me $4000 to replace the motor. Take that insurance check to Protegegarage and order a built motor and have that dropped in. We'll see what happens when I get the phone call.
