CEL #2187--any ideas?

Did the Cobb SRI solve the CEL. I just put on my CBE and got the p2187.

p2177 & p2187 come up when there is a loose vacuum hose or there is a leak in the exhaust prior to the 02 sensors. So since you just put your CBE, you might want to tighten everything up then check for leaks.

Ok. I will check out the vacuum hose. But the CBE is after the the o2's would that rule them out?

It is nothing new with the 2187, first month I had this car I threw that code for the purge valve. If you haven't gotten the TSB for the purge valve, you might as well get it done.

And that was when I was completely stock.

I was wondering... I installed a catch can on the car. I followed the thread in the How-To in the MS3 column. I am not sure if that P2187 code could be because the hose connected to the PCV valve nipple is not on tight? Any suggestions....

this is an old thread, but anyone who gets, "too lean at idle" cel, please check all vac lines, make sure there are no leaks.
also, if you have a mazdaspeed cold air intake, this is known to throw p2187
