Need help buying a new P5

whats the details on the MR2 so I can throw it up on the MC site fer ya?

I actually have a buyer already, but he's from out of state. He's going to coming to Chicago on the 16th to pick it up. It's all but a done deal, but with buying a car sight unseen, there's always a chance he'll say no deal. If it falls through, I'll let you know.

I'm surprised that there won't be any more MS3's. They're selling like hotcakes.

Dave, one thing you can do is request quotes over the Internet and then print them out. Then when you go to a dealer, show them the 3 lowest quotes and demand they do better. Worked for me when I got the p5 at Bigger's Mazda in Elgin...

But I agree w/the others keep the mr2 :). Or why don't you turbo the mp3 if your heart is set on one car?

I will definately be doing the online quote, along with quotes from places like nadaguides.com, kbb.com, etc.

I've been searching the dealer inventory locally, and for the last 2 weeks since I've been on the MS3 kick the same 8-10 MS3's have been available, so I can't say they're flying out the dealer doors like hotcakes.

I even found a new 07 MS3 at a dealer (the rest are 08's) so it's been sitting there for at least 6 months or so. . .

As for the MR2, sure I love the car, but honestly I don't auto-x anymore, i don't 1/4 race anymore, i've never road raced. I want 1 car that I don't have to scrape a foot of snow off of in the AM before I go to work, etc. It's just time for me to part ways with it and the MP3 for a single fast car.

Turboing the MP3 is not an option for me at this point. I'm done with "project" cars. the MR2 was my first big car project and it was enough to lt me know that I'm good without another one, not that it was terrible. . .just not for me.

It was one dealer's POV; for all we know, there are a dealers with many many more (on the lots or on order).
