i just went to the dealer about 3 weeks ago and finally had my remote programmed and about a week ago when i hit my lock button twice the horn stopped honking i called mazda abd they said theyd have to do a 90$ diagnostic test can someone please help me save 90 bucks id really like to no when my doors are locked again without having to look at them

A related question is - does the second click really do anything beyond what the first did? I think the book says the first one locks it, the second one honks verifying you locked it. If you are close to the car you can hear/see the locks move, and also I think the lights flash right? I don't think there's any other security feature on the second click, unless that's an option. Not sure.

I was told to try this and it worked open you door and lock it then unlock do it again then close the door and lock it. If i do this process on my car it turns the horn off but the alarm still arms it just doesnt beep.

check the hatch - if it's not closed 100% then the horn will not honk

your alarm is on silent mode......

here's a how to:
Warning: proceed at your own risk!!! This might or might not work for you as you may have a different type of vehicle or keyless remote entry. In no case do I take any responsibility as to the outcome of using these instructions on your vehicle! If you decide to try this on your car you are on your own! Another important comment is that this procedure does not apply to keys that have built-in transponders. This only applies to remote keyless entry!

Note: Before you start this procedure make sure you have all the remotes for the vehicle with you and program them all!

 1.
Open driver's door and leave open.
Insert the key into the switch and turn to ON and OFF position three times. Note: turn to the ON and not the ACC position!
Take key out of the ignition.
Press the driver's door ajar push-button three times. This button is located on the center pillar between the driver's door and the rear door. It is on the bottom part of the pillar and is pointing out.
Press any button on the first remote. After several seconds, the dashboard buzzer will beep.
Repeat step #5 for all the other remotes.

When you are done, shut the door. The car will beep several times.
 2. You are done. Test all remotes to make sure they work!
