2nd map clamp is a go!

You guys crack me up.
Laloosh made a comment about not wanting to set the Boost Clip PSI on the Standback to a value (10 IIRC) when he was mad at cp-e.

AFAIK nobody has done the cp-e IAT clamp winter fuel cut fix b/c the "the car will run lean" and the "fuel cut is there to protect the car."

But a MAP clamp is all good. That way you can run 18, 19, 22 psi with no problems.... LOL.

A. im running stock boost control
B. i set the clamp to 14.5psi, cpe recommends 10, lil difference
C. The map doesnt change timing or fuel
D. i hear cpe calling you.....run

call it like i see it.

edit: If you're runng stock boost, why the need for a map clamp? Still getting fuel cut?

im running off the stock boost and holding 18-19 psi in the upper gears with my mods, as you know anything over 17-18 for 2 seconds or so results int he map sensor causing boost cut

red,green,black
i assumed red was power, green was signal, and black was ground

in reality red was signal, green was ground, and black was power <---a fucken idiot color coded this thing

A house electrician color coded it. Green for ground, black is hot, and he made the extra one the signal. LOL

Yeah..but What guy in his right mind codes a 12VDC signal with an AC Line Voltage Color code....Stupid s*** if you ask me.

Never said it wasn't dumb as hell to use house coding for an electronic circuit. I just posted a possible explanation and thought it was funny.
Lighten up man!

I was pretty "Light"....I just thought they were an idiot to wire it that way.
BTW..I'm the one that figured it out for him.
I shed a little "Light" on the subject.

Geez...might you try a dose of your own advice.

But yes..you were right on with how they must have been thinking at the time...But DUH..this is DC not AC for starters..I mean the smartest people are usually the biggest idiots.
Damn Engineers.

I used to be a manufacturing technician, then an electronics technician, now I do software support on the phone. The one constant through all these years is "engineers design crap on paper that technicians have to make work in the real world".

You know thats the truth....I am a Commercial HVAC Service tech and Controls installer....Let me tell you..I know about this first hand..LOL!
I laugh now...but I cuss then!
