Went over to a buddys and mounted up his slick setup from his talon. here are the specs

Tire: Hoosier qwik time pro radials 26x9.5x16
Wheel: rota grid or slipstream 16x7 or 16x8 recommend 16x8
offset: 40
recommended air pressure: 10-12psi. Trust me on this. Ive been drag racing fwds for 10years now.
The fit right in the fenders and dont rub. My car is dumped as far as you can go and they still barely fit. If you dont have the sportlines you definately will not have any issues. I recomment this setup over all others. The gearing of the ms3 is to short to run anything else. Trust me Ive tried the 225/50/16s and the 24x8.5x15 slicks. Both spun way hard with minimal mods. The best 60ft. I could cut was 1.8 on the 24s and the 225s were way worse. The mazda is definately capable of low 1.7s easy on these 26s. Im shooting for high 1.6s. That will be the key to hitting 11s this up coming season. You guys better put your game face on if you wanna beat me there. LOL(dunno)

nice. i want to pick up a set of slicks this spring. im going to have to remember this thread. let us know how they work out.

sub'n .... look forward to seeing pics

haven't seen an ms3 on slicks aside from the tube-frame full drag car that isn't even really a speed any more

G0 is pretty sticky. The quicktime pro's come in stickier compounds than their regular slick until you hit the 30xxx sizes. I better see an 11 or im going to have you banned (outie)

the 24s were blowing off. The 26s will up the gearing a bit and make it come out bettter. The car is just to short geared. I had no mods and still had issues with traction. I was doing 2nd gear burnouts and running 10psi. Still spinning. i jsut expect more than others. To some a 1.80 60ft. will work, but for me I wont settle until 1.65. LOL

Anyone know of a cheap way to find 2 16x8 5 x 114.3 Rims with a 40mm Offset like driver has to mount up slicks just for going to track?

Thanks and Good Luck driver, those are almost AWD 60ft times. Crazy.
Tom

How much will these balloon at 110+ MPH? Will it rub your fenders then?
On my car maybe, but only when i lift off the throttle. if I have to I will put a different spring on the car or find a way to get it up a bit to clear. Right now it seems like it should work good. Tire is tucked in there nicely.

Stock front springs for when you run those tires. (dunno)

Edit: If the Mazda3 springs fit, they may be worth a try (if they raise the car up a bit to prevent rubbing).
