Evo X pricing announced

WOW , this i really disappointing. I'm not willing to shell out 40k for this honestly....ad that's before random up-pricing since they'll prob be so "rare" and final costs which wil put me in the," what the **** man, i'll just buy something else and build it up better and still save money ", stage. ...looks like the STI just got some help....

Well to be fair, I quoted the headline, saying "pricing announced", but...
Mitsubishi officials say this is a conservative estimate, and hope that final pricing will come in approximately $1,000 less for each model including delivery fees. The previous Lancer Evo IX sedan started at $28,679 for the base car, and $35,189 for the MR trim.

...so these are not completely solid prices yet. Nothing's official.

Since there' pent up demand for the car here in Canada, and we pay WAY more for vehicles than the US does anyways (even with an even dollar) I'm guessing we're looking at $50K up here... THe mitsu dealer I work at part time has 16 paid deposits already.

That's ridiculous. I need to talk to my wife about moving to Canada (she's in the auto finance business, and from London, ON).

New Cars I'd rather have for the same money or less than a new EVO X

1. 08 Pontiac G8 GT
2. 08 Dodge Challenger SRT
3. 07 MS3

I'm sure I can think of 3 or 4 more if I had the time. The EVO X is awesome to be sure but 34K to start. I LAUGH at you mitsubishi.

There is no reason for either the STi or Evo to be in the mid to high $30,000 range.
For that $$ I would be all over a G37 coupe.

My Parents just bought a house in Tucson, so I'm looking forward to all the EVO 9's that come on the market... Hehehehehe!

You could have a G8 GT with premium package and that supercharger, and still have $4k left over.

Great minds think a like. I think Mitsu will lose alot of future customers with the EVO priced that high. Isn't the STi in the same ballpark? There is many other cars around the price that are better.

Remember the EVO is based on a econobox compact.

STi is in the same area as far as pricing....

and i agree on the econobox thing also.... this is a bit of a hike when you can get a GTS Lancer w/ SSS package and navi for under 22k

just have to wait for the ralliart model.... EVO9 AWD and 260hp...Im sure it will be a better value than 34k...

mid 20's and im sold :)

i know how they can cut costs. eliminate cruise control, get rid of some sound deadening, make side airbags optional, make the stereo crappy, and basically undo all the mass appeal crap they shoved in there that wasn't in the previous versions

(werd) give me a cd player/radio w/ 4 speakers and im set...I can install better at a later date if I feel the need...

The ralliart version could be the more sensible choice by far and give the MS3 a run for its money. It might even steal sales from the X.

I know which one I'd rather buy.

$39K? hmmm... I think that's pricier than the base BMW 135i! twin turbo V6 smoothness....:)
