does anyone have one of these? I seem to have "missplaced" the directions and there are lots of places to plug different things in on the back. I've tried them all and the gauge is not working. I just want to double check things before I send it back. There are two cables that plug in. both have 4 female connections. one is a pigtail that connects to power and ground, and the other goes to the sending unit. anyone know where they plug in?

i have the directions at my house, i have the premium and if you can wait till tomorrow i can scan them and email them to you.

Ones a three wire sensor connector, the other is a wire wire power connector. You can use either on of the 2 4 pin plug ports in the back of the gauge for the 4 pin wire. The sensor plug only goes in one plug and theres a 2 wire plug for an external warning light. Be sure to run +12V power to the sensor thats mounted in the engine bay with the vacuum line attached or the gauge wont work for you.

clos thanks I would really appreciate the directions! ps are you in the west palm beach area? I saw 561...

haltech: I might be wrong, but I think the sender gets its power from the gauge. I'll have to double check on that, but I think there was only 1 place to plug into the sender and it's the signal cable from the gauge.

pps is SU the enemy or something? I keep seeing how no one likes them.

2 plugjacks on the back of the gauge are the same, and you can plug the corresponding harness into either plugjack.

the harnesses can only be plugged in to the correct plugjacks by design.

I thought the same to until i did the install. Apparently PS changed the design and the sending unit needs its own power as well.

I just got my Prosport gauge. The sender unit I have is rectangular in shape, and has a spot for the vacuume hose and a 3 pin connector that goes to the gauge. I don't see where I would add power to it, unless we're supposed to splice it in (not in the supplied instructions).

speed3: ok I was afraid of that, as I've tried them in every configuration they fit. I think the unit is defective.

haltech: there really isn't a place to plug power to the sending unit. honestly.

blaggah: exactly. which plug does it say you're supposed to run the sender from? left or right? I think the pigtail only plugs into one of them.

Please forgive the bad cellphone pics and crappy mspaint art. Here's what I have.

The only other spot to hook anything to the sender is the tube that goes to the Filter and then the "T".

*Edit*

Just found a FAQ on their site

Q: I lost my instructions how do I wire the performance Series gauge?
A: Black –Ground
Red - 12v ign. power-meaning power when the ignition is on.
White- 12v ign. power
Orange-Headlight switch.
Green - Sender
The above/below wiring will result in white during the day and color (amber or Green) at night.

Q: How Do I wire my Premium Series(Peak/Warning) Gauges?
A: Red -Constant 12v power
Black-Ground
White-12v ignition power
Orange-headlight switch
Green –Sender

Q: Can I use Premium Senders with Performance gauges?
A: No. They are not matched

the back of my gauge doesn't look like that. I'll take a picture of my stuff today and post it up.

also, the lights should at least be lighting up... or the needle doing the sweep thing I would think.

yea i live in royal palm beach..did u already get it installed? i could help you out...do u have a aftermarket radio?

I don't have it installed yet. Gonna give it another go this weekend. I'm in west palm off of palm beach lakes. I have everything pretty much taken care of, I just wanted to test the thing and make sure everything was working before I hooked it up and found out then that it was a dud.

I'm stock everything right now. not for long though...

Well, I finally finished the install this weekend. I put an amp meter on the wires I was using after noticing that the test light wasn't lighting up very well, and noticed that I wasn't getting enough power on the wires I was using. Right now, I have the gauge lighting up white at all times, because amber is too dark to see during the day, but the drawback is that white is annoyingly bright at night. I can't even see out of the side view mirror because of the reflection from the gauge. once I get some time, I'll figure out a fix for this, but it's good enough for now. The peak hold is a really nice feature on this gauge. makes it really easy to see how high you're boosting through the gears. here's what I've noticed so far:

1. I'm not spiking at all. it hits max boost for the gear and just sits there. I'm pretty happy about that.

2. I think I might be a tad higher than I'm supposed to be in all gears. the first time I checked, I was 12psi in first, 15 in 2nd and 3rd, and 17 in all others. I'm not complaining, but I'm going to do a few more pulls to verify.

3. The vent mount might be the most annoying location for this. I'm going to probably rig a switch so I can check how bright it is when it's amber, but the glare is a pain.

I'll post up some pictures when I get a chance.

pics ! pics ! pics ! going to install mine in a min and .. i have wires coming off my sensor too.. and no "power" plugs in the back of the gauge on my prosport boost gauge either so where do i get my 12V from??? did i miss on anything? any help in here? thanks

ok so here are the pics:

1. I am really happy with how the install came out:

2: peak boost? I seem to be about 2 lbs high in all gears.

3: annoying pic number 1. daytime glare:

4: annoying pic number 2. night time glare. I also get another one in the top left corner of the windshield:

ok I didn't know why that didn't work. hopefully this will. I'm sure you can figure out which one is which.
