Mannys Magic!

JUST caught onto this post After dropping off LARAS MSP over with Manny at TBK...Can't wait to see what Magic he's done with it now its with all the Stinless S pipe and complete exhaust goodies. Sadly Gremlins were waiting to jump manny at the dyno/drive and snapped the belt at the alternator not to mention the intake developed a nasty crack! (argh)This poor car seems to act up when she hears the word "Dyno"...wtf. But overall...Still cant wait to see the results! Even if its only 300WHP will make Lara happy!(cabpatch)

Laras MSP its beautifull, ive seen in person in TBK Performance, well done MSP inside and out. Keep up the good taste Lara, if you let TBK Performance work on your car youll get to the 300whp mark for sure !!!!

hate to bring bad things back up....but any chance someone found where the dyno's where? it seems like there are a couple friends that are close, or close to TBK, picking up a piece of paper seems pretty doable?

i've seen the work that manuel does, Juan did the install on my car a while back....i truely do believe them. just some specs seemed a bit off?

i'm getting ready to step up my build, and really want to know if headwork will be worth it or not. seeing different dyno's of different setups is always helpfull. i've run on a good 4 different dyno's on about 7 different occations, and never leave without the sheet or file.

...side note ,what size charge piping are you running. and what size do stock msp's with an fmic run usually?

the car its going to get dynoed again pretty soon, and also its getting retuned, we just need to wait a little of bit of time for him to finish a few cars he have in the shop, he works by himself so, its always busy up the ass. i dont know about Juans Work but Manny at TBK its a genius about Mazdas he have done lots of work in my car before i made the big jump to a GT35 Series Turbo and all of the corresponding mods. these shop its great. i have no complains about it, he takes times to do the work, since he works by himself, but for me, and everything ive seen about him and for him to work in my car is the Best Performance shop out there..

about the head work, ill recommend you the Custom TBK Performance Stage 3 Head he did on my car with my eyes close, oh my god the difference is brutal, a brutal port and polish work, 5 angle valve job, custom stage 3 turbo cams, 1mm bigger ferrea titamiun valves, harder valve springs, in my case SR Motorsport Adjustable Cam Gears, Throtle Body port and polish to 60mm, PG 626 Intake Manifold with Port and Polish, throtle body coolant bypass, youll love the results of these head... I use 3Intercooler Piping, i believe stock msp uses 2 1/4 i think, im not sure these GT35 Turbo barely Lags, it hits full boost at around 3800 rpm, its just brutal men.. forget about GT28RS Disco Potato turbo. if you wanna feel real power get the GT35 you wont be dissapointed

i'm not too worried about power currently, i road race/time attack my car, and it gets to the point where you can only "put down" so much. but i do like would really like to just make it more effecient, so maybe i can get the same power, running less boost if needed. for me, cams need to be custom, and no one has really done it on our VVT's yet, so it's harder to bite the bullet. Suspension and aero are my big focus's now actually.

thanks for the info though. wondering how much effect the charge pipe sizing has on the onset of power, and power potential?

on a side note, i love playing with the dynojet software, and checking places like http://www.bristoldyno.com/vehicles/ just to see how other cars (builds) look plotted on the same graph as mine. it's quite fun when you are bored!

You ment Manuel TBK, you are not going to talk or deal with Juan, that guy its missing in action. take it to tbk which is Juans Brother.... what car do you have ? well i was told by TBK that using such of big turbo requires bigger intercooler pipes. i mean i noticed the difference with the head, you might wanna do that to your car even on low boost youll feel the difference, and how quick the engine revs and accelerates

i usually deal with Juan actually, he's been a big help. though hard to reach at times, when i need something i talk to him within a couple days usually. i'm in Cali, about 45 min from his other brother Nikolas actually, he's helped me a couple times as well with parts.

i have a Mazda6, been through the ringer an back. i have 2 companies (F2usa & Gillis Motorsports) that do all my work now. i'm not worried about shops, just what direction i want to go. the tranny swap was a big project, still recouping from all the gremlins involved in that. just looking for ~330ish whp and i'm golden personally, though i think F2 wants to go higher. the block can take whatever i throw at it....but i need the susp. and aero to keep the car planted, so i couldn't even put down my 10psi well enough at Laguna Seca.

i think that's one of the rough things with some of these shops....though in the end it's all good and "worth it", it takes forever for things. Manuel is WAY too busy for a lot of stuff, rare as hell to get timely stuff from Juan, my tranny swap lasted over 8 months.....it's just damn hard. but, it's like that new cadi commecial "when i turn on my car, it (without a doubt) returns the favor)

you have Pictures of your car ?, sounds like a very interesting project. you have a mazda 6 turbo then ? post your specs and pictures

my car is an '03 Mazda6i. then Juan prototyped his HiBoost kit with my car. then i put an engine from Gillis in the car (builds engines for racing For Focus'), then figured all the racing was pointless in the atx i had (and 15psi on the track was killing it), so we dropped in a built up mtx75 from the focus with lsd and shorter gearing. my little VF22 is good for about 18psi, so we'll see where that puts me, should have that buttoned up by Jan, then it all changes again.

...specs are in my sig by the way. there is a quick pic on the Redlinetimeattack.com website of the car as well.

Nice looking car. Can you fit GT35 with stock rad + fan etc?

I make a manifold for the Honda S2000 which is intended for the GT35 and they make huge low end torque + top end HP. Nice turbo. If it fits without moving stuff I might make a manifold to suit it.

...hopefully TBK its going to dyno the car pretty soon, last update i had from Manuel..

Why are you waiting for a new dyno? Where is the sheet from your run that has already been made? I thought someone was going to go pick it up for you, since it was in your glovebox?
