hey thats what it sais on the protege garage, they recommend the standback for tuning with the new fuel pump

I dont want to speak for Laloosh but if I had to guess, Id say Laloosh wont be messing around with other tuning on the standback, anytime soon. There isnt much more to really do.... hes already got the boost up to 18psi.

It seems like the standback probably works better than any combination of manual boost control.... at least for holding boost. Would anybody like to agree with this?... or disagree for that matter?

i'm no expert but on the protege garage website it sais the standback is needed for effective tuning to go along with there new fuel pump

f*ck that s***, i have the fastest ms3 :)
My ms3 is on stage 3 on every category.
if not mistaken , i think it's about 400hp and can hit 200mph in no time.
my ms3 can even drift ftw !!!

yea... only problem is, it's on nfs carbon....prostreet is next ;)

I have a picture of Chuck Norris on my dash board does this put me in the category as the most powerful MS3.

its does say bigger turbo users: " Bigger Turbo Users: CP-Es Standback Unit is the best tuning device out that can tune and utilize the upgrade pumps flow parameters. In order to take full advantage of the pump, the Standback must be used with the High Volume Cam Driven Fuel Pump."
Quote form the website.

Anything regarding this fuel pump is speculative at this point.... I think PG would agree that they are unsure of the full benefits to be had with the pump, and from where.... especially after Lalooshs runs. As far as tuning.... Laloosh certainly regrets purchasing the pump(I meant to say standback) to begin with because of its limitations. Is that spite? Maybe a little, but some truth there too.

It could be argued that at the very least the pump will benefit cars that are fuel cutting with sizeable gains. The standback may complicate the obvious. I will have dynos next week of the pump on my setup. I think the most likely benefit will be more power to redline. Im hoping I make power past 6100-6200.

I dont think the standback does anything but raise boost in this instance.

Editted for accuracy hopefully it makes more sense now.

I don't think the standback is that bad of a deal, you can plug your car into a computer get it tuned, datalog etc. for 600bucks. theres been worse deals out there...

i regret purchasing the pump? umm no i regret purchasing the standback

where do these people get this idea? Thats the 2nd or 3rd time ive seen somone say you regret the pump. I don't understand, considering you have said numerous times you've shaved almost 1/2 a second from your 1/4 mike time, as well as raise your trap speed.

erg I hate false rumors.

i dunno dude....if i hear...whats done to your car one more time i might snap. I seriously dont think people read threads. They read the first sentence and hit reply

i'm running 18psi and i'm getting the standback tuned after christmas, so i'll do a run without the standback and then after some tuningwe will see if the standback makes a difference, if it does say 20-40hp then I don't see how to reason thats its a watse of money?

u will make power cause of boost, Not because of leaning the car out or playing with timing. By playing with a/f ratio and leaning the car out u will probably make 10 extra wheel hp. yay

I scratch my head at these tunes i see out there. People playing with timing and advancing it 3-4 degrees all while leaning the car out.....it reall boggles my mind how they think thats safe lol

They are probably getting that idea from here...

Stuttering G O N E.
btw i do not understand this car. it does the opposite of logic.

When its cold, cars run leaner.
When you modify the intake/exhaust, cars run leaner.

So ok its 26 degrees outside, my car only stutters when its cold. i went to datalog some runs. Sure enough 4k rpm begins to stutter and doesnt slow down till 6k. ok i got that on file. next i go to the extreme and add 8 percent of fuel after 3k rpm till redline. i get on it, 4k rpm BOOOOOM it felt like some1 slammed the brakes hard. my friend was following me and called me instantly saying that i might have lost my bumper in the fireball i shot out. So i try it again, same exact result. VIOLENT boost/fuel cut. So im like ok this makes ZERO sense, so i lean the car out -2 after 4k rpm. i have NEVER felt this car pull harder in my life. now im going to list all the things that make ZERO SENSE.

1. only happens in cold weather. Cold weather equals leaner conditions
2. only happens witht he forge bpv. Stock one leaks and doesnt hold boost.
a leaking bpv richens the car, not leans it out. wtf
3. how is my car running richer then stock after i/tbe?
4. this car is gay....but quick as hell now
5. i have a headace and can't believe leaning it out solved all my problems.
6. i feel stupid for spending money ona fuel pump(rockon)

This was before the pump was installed though. I would have liked to see some track times (dunno if he got to test on the track) from when he did some street tuning and pulled fuel after 4k rpm. "i have NEVER felt this car pull harder in my life" is a pretty bold statement, I think he was really on to something before he went a totally different route.
