MY 1st Mazda & Most Likely my Last one

There's always a bunch of issues in the first year....remember all makes have this type of problem even Toyota and Honda.....it's a bummer but part of the car biz. It's how they handle it in my opinion.....I have never had any issues with Mazda taking care of me and my RX 8 had a bunch of issues!!! I have had a couple minor things with my CX 7 luckily. I am happy!! Good luck...hope it all gets handled!

first year vehicles I've owned:

'02 Acura RSX Type S
'04 Ford F-150
'06 Acura CSX (the vehicle I traded in for the CX-7)

I highlighted the F-150 because it's a Ford (fix or repair daily). This acronym did not apply to my F-150. Actually, a light burned out in one of the interior switches after 40,000 km. (nervous)

Could probably throw my '01 S2000 into the mix. Technically 2nd model year, (well, 3rd if you count that in Japan they were a '99 for 1 month of production)... but the car was low volume and the '99-'01 model years were all the same (sans the addition of a clock and rear windscreen in '01). That car was solid, too.

And yeah, the dealership may take care of a person, but who wants to go through this many problems all the time? It's like mattresses. All the big euro top ones are prone to sagging. Sure, there is a 10 year warranty, but do you really want to have to get your mattress replaced every 6 to 12 months?

Recalls (Couldn't link to the same site as it is a Canadian model) - On certain vehicles, an ABS wheel speed sensor O-ring seal may allow water to enter the rear wheel bearing and eventually cause damage, especially in areas that use road salt. In time, the bearing could loosen and overheat, which could cause a wheel to separate from the vehicle. Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the ABS sensor O-ring seals and rear wheel bearings.

Although you might not have had the same issues, there were recalls for each of those...

I'm not comparing number of recalls. Based on that, the F-150 would take the cake... haha.

I'm not saying those cars don't have problems, I'm just comparing my own experiences.

None of it matters, my CX-7 is the most problematic vehicle I've ever owned, and first model year or not, it isn't living up to my standards.

I could see where you're coming from, but lots of these problems are early builds, I have heard little to no problems coming from late build or 08 owners.
Hopefully my CX-7 doesn't start seriously acting up, it a very early build.

First year Acura's are not so great, generally speaking.

dont hate mazda because of some stupid TSB's and recalls..read the toyota ones..u can actually die from those stupid recalls and to make matters worst, they from the first yr versions as well..what ur talking about is just minor things..o like turbo lag can kill u..always remember that 1st yr reliability for brand new cars will not always be as good. ur lucky that the mazda stuffs arent as dangerous as the toyota ones

what matters most is how the dealer handles ur issues. obviously some people get headaches from mazda but i also got crap thrown at me from toyota as well.in fact, toyota didnt fix the problem wit my 4runner..a simple reset of the ECU fixed it. btw my 4runner is a bit falling apart right now(the powerbooster is crapping out). yr 2000 wit 72k mi and my dad babys that thing. ever since i got my p5, my dad changed his mind from toyota and is gonna buy mazda from now on and so will i. i'm sure once u look pass all the minor flaws, u'll realize that ur car is one of a kind. theres a bit of "Zoom Zoom" in all of us lol
