Cp-e problem with me

If I went a posted something in the CP-E subsection that they didn't like, and they banned me I'd ******* deal with it and move on. I wouldn't b**** and moan about it all over the internet. They pay for that space and obvoiusly have the right to protect thier companies image in that space. End of story.

...

Are you freaking kidding me. You think its not OK to complain where a company pays the rent? I get people in my business all the time..... right in front of other customers. Its how I deal with this that keeps people coming back.

If I threw the customer out. Id have all the witnesses follow.... and it matters not if the complaint is justified or not. Your in business..... deal with it. Their subforum is where they should take the most care. Its not a church its their BUSINESS forum!!!! Your supposed to deal with customers there.... directly..... Satisfied or disgruntled alike.

Just basic business....geez.

Im sorry but Im going to triple post.

I think another issue that was kind of swept under the rug is the way CPE introduced their fuel pump on their website. They made 2 or 3 direct false statements and disparaging remarks about warranty, quality, and development, in regards to the competition..... PG obviously.

It was only after we pointed out the inaccuracies in their claims and a publicized phone conversation with Ken that the sites wording changed. They are hunting for a libel suit.

If a competing business in my town made comments about my business in a similar fashion....in writing.... they would have had their ass SUED, certainly threatened!!! None of this whoops crap, oh OK I'll change it now.

CPE is just not this shiny happy place you all think. They are playing hardball and they are business ametuers. They need to hire a publicist before they ruin the company, and the research element that they are known for. One that I think they actually are good at. But so far their business practices are horrendous..... and its a shame really because the competion is ultimately good for our community.

Do you even know what you are talking about? You do know that PG and CPE work together...right? If you have never seen a company do comparative advertising (which is not only LEGAL, but ENCOURAGED by the FTC) then I'm not sure what to say :-\

How does the product description in any way shape or form trash a competitor?

So everyone is pissed that Laloosh got banned for being confrontational to and disparaging of the products made by cp-e on cp-e's own subforum. Does anyone really think that cp-e should have just stood idly by and let someone badmouth their stuff on their own subforum? They (and all sponsors) pay for the forum space as a way of advertising their products to people. Questions can be answered and updates of product development, etc are a part of it but really, it's a way of advertising to both experienced and new members. What the hell kind of business model would it be to let someone crap all over their products on their own freaking subforum. THEY PAID FOR THAT SPACE. Laloosh did this and got a temporary one week ban. wah wah..

Are you suggesting that he needs to agree with everything they say just because they pay for his space to say it? What is this? A democracy or a dictatorship? Them silencing him increases his credibility because of their fear of losing business.. If he was some non credible sack of s***, they needn't say a word.

Yeah their working together on the fuel pump right. They arent working together. PG is both a developer(manufacturer) AND vendor.... CPE is a developer(manufacturer). It is a strange hybrid relationship..... to some degree that is why it probably has been awkward for the products they have in competition.

And as far as comparative advertising goes..... you better be DAMN sure that the statements you make can be backed up in court with evidence. Not hearsay....or oops.

CPE SPECIFICALLY stated that PG didnt offer a complete warranty on their pump(among other things). It was publically retracted shortly thereafter as being incorrect.

Business lesson.... a lawsuit would have determined damages prior to the retraction. And in the normal business world the reputation of the company at fault would have been in tatters. Of course I know comparative advertising... and it must be an accurate comparison or youre screwed.

And please dont question if I know what Im talking about like you somehow do. I own my own company, have been a board member of another, and sat as a receivor for 2 others. I know lots more about business then I know about cars:)

The incident at hand? you can't read then sir.

Again please tell me how CPE disrespected laloosh....he's the one who took it to a negative level...go read the posts, please. Cheerleader? LOL..you don't even know the half of it bud. I can tell by your post you don't know the truth about the fuel pump threads...

And I am not affiliated with CPE at all, if you knew what you were talking about you'd know that.

I point you to the word: " Comprehension " Search it. Google.. than go back and read this entire thread. When done, please present us a report on what you have learned. I dont have time for cheerleaders and droids from other boards attempting to sugar coat this. Remember, the fuel pump fix was started HERE.

You just lost all credibility bud :(

CPE is not a vendor...CPE is a manufacturer, and a product developer. Please stop spreading incorrect information, your posts are not helping anyone.

Grats on your business though...Mine got bullied for doing comparative advertising. Long story short is we were young (in college) and couldn't afford lawyers to defend us. Then again we didn't know what we were doing was legal either...they threatened us since they knew we were small...oh well, alienware sucks :)

Goes further dude... this about CPE's disregard to Jonathon's effort on the fuel pump as well..

it wasn't started here...it was started long before these forums :) But thanks for trying.

And one who cannot act professional.. lets not forget the Fuel Pump discussion within this thread that lead CPE to throwing Jonathon ( Mrlilguy ) under the bus. They are NOT getting away with this until i see an apology and acknowledgment on where the pump came from.

See herein lies the problem. I do not see where CPE threatened laloosh? Anywhere...so no I do not see it as discrimination.

I'm not on their bandwagon either...I'm on the "im sick of people taking things said on an internet forum personally, and then starting a huge s*** throwing party"

Out of all of this I don't understand why it is CPE's fault. They asked for laloosh to not be able to post in their sub forum -- they did not have the power to ban him -- nor did they, the ************ people did it... period.

RE Betleguese (can't multi quote on these forums >.>)

Negative level...personal level, CPE was posting data...saying "hmm our numbers aren't showing the same thing" I don't remember reading anything where CPE said "OMG LALOOSH YOU ARE STUPID AND WRONG" or anything close to that...

Boost...I don't know how to help, but I'm not making this personal on any level...so that's good right? -- I see people who know nothing of the situation about the fuel pumps posting, and jumping on this bandwagon to bash CPE (much like there was a bandwagon about the Cobb AP, or the PG RP)

I'm just sick of everyone being so childish...and taking matters like this into the public domain.

Yeah, mell, I completely understand. Just like I said, I have nothing against you, you're a highly respected member in my eyes. I just can't see eye to eye on this situation with you.

Here's a quote from Jordans email to Laloosh:

"I on the other hand, am a company representative, and I have information that you don't have about these products. If I see you offering any other misinformation on the boards, then I will cease supporting you, and I will notify that moderators of the respective board of your actions. It's that simple."

That sounds very much like a threat to me. In a nutshell, it reads, "Hey stop talking s***, or we'll shut you up"... Basically an iron fist. A dictator.

My only fear with this situation is that it might drive some members apart. And for that we must remember that we're a community with a similar common goal... And just because we stand on separate sides of one topic doesnt make us all that different from one another. So I hope, that even after this flaming debate, we can all still get along.

It's absolutly alright to complain when a company sells you a defective product or one that doesn't work as advertised, but this wasn't a complaint. This DRAMA started when a post was made about the effects of a mod--That was not sold to him buy CP-e. CP-e didn't agree with laloosh's conclusions and people posted that his track times were BS, and then blah, blah, blah, let's whip out the e-dicks and see who's is bigger..

I work at a custom car audio shop. If you walked into my building(that I'm paying to rent) and started telling my customers that your $500 alpine 1000 watt amp was just as good as the $600 JL 1000 watt amp that I sell, and that my customers should just go buy the same amp as you because it's cheaper(and absolutly the same according to you). I believe that my amp is better than yours(or at least not exactly the same), but you wont be persuaded. You not there to shop your, there convince my customers that I'm not necessary. At that point I would absolutly ask you to leave, and if you wouldn't leave I'd make you leave.

That's good buisness.

Maybe I did lose all credibility:) I knew that and just mispoke..lol. Its such an obvious gaffe I hope you dont really think I didnt know that.

Its such an obvious goof Im going to edit it. But the rest of my post still stands.

It doesn't sound like a threat it sounds like a warning.

If you contiue to disparage my product without all the facts I'm going to remove your ability to do so..

[sarcasm]Wow it seems so much more menacing the way you say it.[/sarcasm]

Umm...They know where the pump came from...they don't deny it and as far as I know they never have. Did he apologize to PG?

semantics.

It's a threat, an ultimatum. If you do this, then I will do that.

Had they said this:

"Please let me know if you've been misinformed or are drawing conclusions that we don't agree with. I'm sure we can provide you a better explanation if you give us the opportunity to do so. Thanks in advance, and we'd appreciate you letting us know prior to spreading speculation in the community. Thanks!"

NOW THAT sounds like a warning.

Last time I checked the forum wasn't owned by CP-E. Also if they have facts to prove otherwise, they should provide it. They're using the forum to sell their products. And everything they hear isn't going to be a bed of roses.
A warning? a threat? in this case it's same thing. They have yet to disprove laloosh's findings. Also remember, he logged his data with THEIR equipment.

lets not get PG involved in this, it has nothing to do with them. Its between cp-e, laloosh and a few mentions of mrlilguy.

I agree with you. There are times to ask customers to leave. Ive done it.

But I can honestly say that if there were ANY customers who were witness to it, who felt I overstepped my right, then I would have made a bad decision.

Loosh wasnt anywhere near the example you used. And the witnesses to the public part of the incident are at least evenly split on who was to blame.

If you worked for me and you threw a customer out, and then cost me a customer for your action. You would get warned once. the second time you would be fired. And it wouldnt matter how right or wrong the customer was in my decision. I dont hire people who cost me money. I try to hire problem solvers.

Dude...likewise...we can agree to disagree!!! I have nothing against you AT ALL...or anyone here for that matter. You and I disagree a lot on the other forums but it's always friendly which is awesome...perhaps someday we can sit down over some good brews and shoot the s*** and laugh at times like this on the forums? you support COBB, much Like i support CPE :) We have our reasons, I have nothin against cobb...i wanted their Ap but CPE is local...and I see their solution being available sooner rather than later. Jordan was telling me how they got to talk to Trey and the rest of the COBB guys at SEMA and they had some great conversations...glad to see friendliness between competitors as always.

I guess I don't see it as an iron fist because if misinformation was being spread...especially about that company, then its not helping anyone. I only read into CPE's words asking for more data from laloosh as saying "hey...we got different numbers...can we see more data so we can see why they may have been different?" That was for some reason taken personally and then this whole thing got blown up.

A question I have is why are people blaming CPE for banning laloosh? CPE asked laloosh to not be able to post in their section -- not to be banned from the forums. the mods are the ones that banned him...well I guess the admin according to cosmic. Shouldn't this qualm be taken up with the admin?
