whos got the most miles on the ms3?

2008 MS3, 1400 miles in 7 weeks, low, getting ready for the first oil change in December. 19MPG average. I took it it out to the the local canyon and the mountain road -WOW!!!! (in so cal, so we have everything-:) I also took on few 180 degree on-ramps at speed so I could check if the DSC/TC was working-:) Good, but not as good as in the RX8.

Mostly comute, 12 miles one way against traffic, freeway=boring, , but still you can have fun, if you check your mirrors carefully (they should put some twisties in there)

No oil issues so far except for the windshiled creek as the weather got colder (chilly tonight with first significant rain in 10 months at 50F-BRRR- Gotta love this climate-:)

As for the oil usage to the OP, my previous car was an '07 RX8 - sucked up a quart every 1000 miles, but that was normal for the WANKEL rotary, most awsome engine in the world, I still miss the red line 9500 RPM a day) - if they could just keep the gas consupmtion under control....-:( If this car was using oil I 'd start asking questions...

I also, out of curiosity, pressed the DSC button off at the local STOP sign...and promptly left the few thousand miles of the thread on the asphalt, another WOW!! (I don't think the neighbours were impressed)

Still looking for the best seat/drivining postion...too many options here(6ft ~182cm, 200lbs ~90kg)... Boy that RX8 was comfy.....

Oh yeah it's friday and I had a had a few brews(after driiving)

Be safe and enjoy your MS3 like I do. As compromises go this is an amazing car!

Best

Is the oil dropping about 1/4qt an issue?

As I said when the first fill the car up its above the top eyelet in the dip stick then at 5k miles its just below it. Thats hardly any change and I thought this was normal for any boosted car.

If this is an issue I will ask the dealer but I thought it was very normal as is the oil getting nice and dark from the turbo heat.

just rolled over 10000 yesterday. I quickly gaining on my wife's CX-7 which is at 14500 because she doesn't drive very much anymore now that she quit her job. She just sits around the house and watches desperate housewives and Grey's. And her is excuse is she's 8 months pregnant. I would say I wish I was pregnant but.... HELL NO.(hump)(blarf)(birthday)

I am at 5500 and it's about two-three months old. This car makes my bike jealous.

Yah, you'll drive yourself crazy that way. Remember you've got 3 years of warranty. Go out and have fun with it for crissakes. You paid ~$24K for the thing! Nothing is perfect and if you expect it to be perfect you'll always be disappointed.

You guys would be proud of me...I now have 360 miles on the Speed.

I bought the extended warranty so I have 6 years and I have been having fun to the tune of 16 mpg. The first door ding is going to be a b**** though - that is why the car mostly hides in the garage.

i am almost tempted to race for 50k miles so that i don't have the cursed "warranty" word in my vocab to worry about when the AP comes out...;)

8700 miles as it is, though...^^;

I've had the same thought. I want to get past my warranty phase. I can afford to fix what goes wrong. It's the wife/procurement justification process I cannot circumvent. If I fork something up, she'll say..."just take it in for warranty work!" because it's um....all stock wink wink.
