Got dynoed!

basically ive got just the Corksport DP, custom test pipe and CAI and boost controller. this was done on a dynojet dyno with no airflow going threw the front of the car cause there fan was broke, so im sure it was heat soaked pretty bad. 270whp and 310wtq isnt that bad i guess. enjoy!!

yeah jasons my buddy, he dynoed my car for me. Thats a really nice shop. i live about 10 minutes away from fastlane. what does a stock ms3 put down on a dynojet normally?
 
Your TRQ numbers are awsome I barley even broke 280 and that was on my 2nd pull and it was obvious that heat soak was setting in because hp went from 261 on the fist pull down to 259 hp on the 2nd . I don't know why exactly my tourque improved on the 2nd pull but on the third i dropped trq and hp . I just had the MS CAI when I dynoed . Your putting like 40lbs more TRQ than I am . I read somewhere on another thread that after engine mods increase TRQ is this true ??? oh yead I dynoed in 4th gear I think it was 74 temp....

i read that same thread where he said after engine is torque and before engine is hp. how can that be if you get your hp number directly from tq, if tq rises then hp rises. the peak numbers can be deceiving but they arent the whole story, its all about making the powerband fatter. thats why you can gain 2hp PEAK and at the same time gain 12lb ft of tq PEAK. it may look like tq has risen and hp has not but they both rise relative to each other. The math (i dunno, divide tq by 5252 and multiply by # of cylinders or somethin) doesnt let one number increase more than the other when you look at the entire powerband as a whole and not just peak. my semi-educated GUESS is it should not matter pre or post motor.

nig3, nice numbers. how long has your cai been installed? your a/f ratio seems to be factory (slightly rich in higher rpm) and this would ease alot of the worry about running too lean with a cai. maybe the computer adjusts a/f after it learns how to handle the more incoming air from intake and there is not the fear of running too lean like some suggest.

Man, you guys are lucky to have a good dyno nearby.

Has anyone found what the power increase is just for a DP? I have a MS CAI and I am thinking of this purchase. Don't think I am going to do much else besides the DP with a highflow cat and a MP. Of course when AccessPort comes out, that would be my final tuning mod for power (I hope :))

The car feels goooood doesn't it (2thumbs)

Curious why are you nearly 40whp short of BlackSRT311's car.

Pretty much the same mods. That is a huge variance.

I havent seen his dyno but im pretty sure he was on a dyno dynamics dyno or a hub dyno. they ready high as hell like that. Can you post his dyno so i can see?

Never heard that one before??? my si hit 170whp on a dyno jet and 205whp on a dynodynamics with the same exact set up.

anyways wow, wonder what the hell hes doing different thats making all the extra power??? (drunk)
 
just so everyone knows my car only made 250whp bone stock. I gained 10whp form just the testpipe and 50whp from modding the stock box and going from 13psi to 18psi. Thats it. Im guessing your car was heat soaked for sure. I made sure my car was good and cooled down. Two fans going on it too.

Either way your numbers are good but im sure they could have been better with the fans going and proper cool down. Mine made the most power on its first run. Lost roughly 5whp doing back to back run.
 
I wonder why he put the smoothing to 5? I bet the car was heatsoaked for sure and was pulling timing. Was it choppy as hell on setting 3? That is where most dyno tuners keep it.
