So how is the stock MS3 clutch?

MS3 CB
hello. i am new to mazda. i picked up my MS3 a few weeks ago and am having a great time with it. the gas mileage isn't spectacular, but that's probably because i'm not a feather footed pansy. ha

not that the clutch is slipping or anything, but to those who have had the MS3 for a while; how does the clutch stand up to hard driving?

hard driving to me is the occasional high-rpm side-step, daily first gear full-throttle pulls and heading to the strip sometimes. Has anyone seen any significant premature slippage? If so, what is a good brand for a sporty clutch, not meant for racing, which keeps the stock feel.

thanks

Its very strong, but touchy.

I'm not one of those who's been out to the track non-stop, but I've not heard about a clutch failure or wear-out yet. Laloosh, knowledge 007, etc. they all race pretty often it seems, on the stock clutch.

TIRES would matter here, since a super sticky tire would force you to clutch differently, and perhaps wear it down more...on the track at least.

thanks for the info. seems like i won't need a clutch for a while then. i don't plan to do much tracking.

also, thanks for the good audio links. the bose system is nice, but it definitely could use an upgrade.
