Actually, my dealer tells me there are updates whenever I go in for an oil change or CEL. My guy does them automatically. I think it just depends on the dealership really.

Well all the dealers I've dealt with (Todey, Galpin, Mazda Toaks, Riverside etc... ) ALL required me to mention updating it, otherwise they would not have done it.

So I would say mostly they want you to mention it, or they won't.

Mine was updated during delivery setup... and then when I take it in for oil changes they check to see if there are any updates.

Clearly this varies by dealer.
