As the Forge bpv is a replacement/upgrade for the stock unit, am I correct in assuming that I simply install the new bpv like the stock unit?

My search for relevant threads turned up a lot of info on bov's but little on bpv's.

Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for humoring me.

Also, I'm going to switch out the yellow spring for the blue spring. Any need or benefit in adding a washer, too?

I went with the red spring. If you use shims don't put them on the moving side of the spring.

What you need to realise is that the BPV is not going to create more boost with a stronger spring along with the fact that the numbers from Forge are fairly wide ranging approximates. With the mods I have it seemed the BPV was not allowing me to achieve boost as quickly as stock with the blue spring. With red and no shims my first and second gear pulls are back where they were. I still spike at 22.5 just as I did when everything was stock including TMIC.

RYZ's car pulls pretty damn hard I've seen it first hand. I don't think the red spring is having any adverse affects at all.

The blue spring is the WRONG spring to use, the YELLOW spring is the one that should be used, the blue and red are too strong. You get low boost flutter with the blue spring and surge with the red, Increases turbo lag too.

I'm not experiencing any surge or flutter. As I stated, the only lag I found was with the other springs. Your opinion is just that.

Yeah, right, thats why they ship with the yellow spring in place, and thats why the yellow spring is rated for our boost range, per the Forge website

Now you can fine tune your Blow Off/Diverter Valve to the exact needs of your engine with this complete tuning kit.

Your valve tuning kit you will find four springs and three spacers.

The strongest spring is the red, followed by the blue, yellow and finally the green which is the weakest. The spacers enable you to fine tune the settings between two spring tensions if required.

We normally supply our valves, unless requested differently, with a spring that will match the tension of the manufacturer’s original fitment valve. However, as many owners undertake tuning modifications some may wish to re-tune the valve characteristics to suit a given application.

If you are finding that the valve is dumping more than required or you are loosing boost pressure it is normally an indication that a stronger spring is required. Conversely if the valve is failing to dump it may be necessary to install a weaker spring. If during this tuning of your valve you are faced for example with the red spring being to strong and the blue spring to weak, you can add the spacers to the blue spring to increase the tension by small increments, thus achieving a setting between the red and blue springs.
Valve Spring color coding
Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
Red - 30 + PSI
The above figures are estimates only and should only be considered as a guideline

Please note - fitting a stronger spring into a valve will not increase boost pressure unless existing pressure is being lost. Failure to allow the valve to operate by installing a spring which is to strong may cause damage to the turbocharger.

Please note - the red coded springs should not be installed in the DVR or DV007 diaphragm valves

Funny how you miss little lines like this "However, as many owners undertake tuning modifications some may wish to re-tune the valve characteristics to suit a given application." Again, your opinion is just that.

Ours is a piston not a diaphragm valve. You also seem to overlook "The above figures are estimates only and should only be considered as a guideline."

Welp, i dont think the Forge BPV would of shipped with the damn springs if they couldnt be exchanged out. Remember, each car is different and so are the mods. Therefore, try them all out and see what works. Im thinking of trying the Red in my car as well.

If the BOOST increases that would give you a reason to change the BPV spring, did you not read.

Oh youre one of those types.. Since its in print, it must be the way it should be. We CAN read, however and i will say this one last time, EVERY CAR IS DIFFERENT!

Ever heard of Murphy and his laws? Boy do you lack common sense, i got some ocean side property in the desert ill sell ya!
