626 Mani Worth It Or Not Worth It????

Will we see any noticeable increase in gas consumption after installing this IM, considering the gas prices today?

I guess that would depend on how you really drive. It seems to be alot quicker without even getting into boost. I would think it might drop down your MPG but I personally haven't been able to check. I usually have to open it up a few times after I fill up.

Can you guys please help me with this... I have a huge dilemma!

I'm running my MSP on stock boost, with no mods except one. I recently installed the 3" Vibrant turboback exhaust, but modified it with a 2.5" glass part resonator (less noise & vibration) which gave my car a lot more low-end torque. I love it! I was now going to put in this 626 Intake Manifold that I bought 2 months ago but I just read here that this would take away your torque at low-end acceleration, & I don't want to lose that! Anyone has any insight on this?

By the way, I'm thinking of eventually putting in the PG SMIC & hardpipes, plus maybe the Injen CAI (concerned about high-end noise). I wonder if this ensemble with the SMIC will mitigate the problem mentioned above.

Please give lots of feedback!

Dam my thread just goes and goes lol......Its hard to say cause I guess everything changes when you start adding mods on your car and not everyone on here has the same mods as you. So its hard for some people to answer that.
Correct me if Im wrong but I think sometimes the best way to find is put the b**** one run it and post your pros and cons if any that concern you.

Sorry..But I really wouldnt cal your concerns a huge DILLEMA!
I mean c'mon..your talking about parts here..not life or death.
And Dude..Why did you spend all the money on a Vibrant 3'' only to bottleneck it back down wth a 2.5'' resonator?
I mean that right there tells me you arent the brightest crayon in the box.
Why would you put a 3'' resonator on it?
It would help with the noise and still allow full low.
Poor choice if you ask me (loser)

If you only knew what happened.. Wasn't my choice. In fact I'd been thinking about changing it back to a 3". The guy at the shop told me he'd install a 3" but when I got there he only had a 2.5". He said I'd have to wait another week & also cost me $300 ( 3 times more) for the 3". I didn't/couldn't wait another week nor fork out another $200 more (which he previously didn't mention) at the time.

some of us have done exactly that...
i have it installed....i guess is an OK mod...but again, i don't have the exact same manifold u guys talk about...still..i'm different lol

YAY its finally done

finally got everything put back together, to be totally honest i feel that the car is definitely more open, but i was hoping for more throw back action which i must say my car lacked since day one, overall i like it and i have not had any idling problems so far....

well feels the same maybe a little increase, but you have to remeber i still running stock boost, and all i have is a vibrant exhaust, intake mani, and a injen cai. maybe after i get a better fmic/smic with a unichip i start to feel better gains.
