I love tickets

for following the law.... Right when I am actually obeying the law.. I get a ******* ticket... hmmmm I love this bad town!!!

Easy to beat... I would love to say that.. But not in this town... He lasered a car passing me and passed it off as me. There is no way to fight this, Its a COPS word over MINE.. Which isn't much on my side.. I'm 19. I know for a fact it wasnt me becuase I was on the inside lane on a very very tight turn. let alone me watching my side not to catch a curb I have to watch the asshole on my right making sure he didn't hit me. This ticket will over due my points and I will be put on a restricted license.

Go to court. At least try to fight it.

If you're sure you weren't speeding, don't just lay down and let them **** you.

well you could go to court anyways, the judge might forgo the points and just make you pay the fine....worth a shot if you truly did nothing...

Try to fight it? Well as you would know if you lose, you have to pay all the court fee's. Which could add up to more then 2500 dollars, AND A LOST LICENSE.. I can't afford that. I can barley afford the ticket.. oo yea which was 185.51! yep 51! lol..

If you fight it, you may have little chance of getting out of it, but if you don't fight it, there's no chance of getting out of it. Worth a shot.

Speeding. The cop stated I was doing 47 in a 30. ON A TURN.. hah.. The turn is pretty much a right angle turn.. I dont think I could do 35 around it in my Speed. It would understeer and hit a car or the curb.

In that case, it should be easy to beat.

Not all the time. I got a ticket once for something that was not my fault and took it to court. The Cop flat out lied....end of story. Everything I said he said it was different.

Mine is too long to get into detail, but long story short is there was a train that backed up traffic. After the train passed the left turn lane filled up and the last car was sticking a little into my lane. The car in front of me came to a stop instead of easly going around this car which forced me to stop as well. The back part of my car on the Rail-Road tracks but I could not move forward or backward because of the cars. The right lane was moving right along but bumper to bumper so moving over was not an option.

Left turn lane starts to move and the lady in front of me who stopped, and I thought did so because she was also going to turn left, went straight! WTF She could have easly went around that car without ever crossing into the right lane.

I go forward and make it through the light and a motorcycle cop pulls me over and gives me a ticket for stopping on the tracks. Like I had any choice in the matter. I tried to explaine the situation, but he still gave me the ticket.

I take him to court. I'm 41 years old and I accept anything I do wrong. I have never faught a traffic ticket before as I was always in the wrong.

I explained the situation in court. Then the cop gets his say. He said there was no train, traffic was light and there was no red light backing it up. In other words, I stopped on the track just to do it (chair).

I was in the Military for almost 10 years. I respect what a uniform means, but I don't respect its abuse. The cop lied, I got fined for something beyond my control. Simple as that but not as easy as you would think to prove as they always listen to the cop, wrong or right.

The cops in this town make uniformed police mean look like scum. They all think they are above the law, not enforcing it. Our Sheriff was arrested for beating his wife 3 times. And till this day he is still the Sheriff..... hmm tell you alot about this damn city.

I learned my lesson with mine. Not sure about FL, but CA has two ways to dispute a ticket. One is a written dispute and the other is to go to court. If you do the written and fail, you can still take it to court. Also, I have never seen anyone get charged court fees to go to traffic court. People in CA do it because they get their fine cut in half if they do (except for red light violations).

If you do take it to court, get your ducks in a row. Take pictures, hell video yourself taking the corner at the posted speed and show that in court. If you can't take it at the posted speed then you sure as hell can't do it at 47 now can you :)

You can fight a ticket. You can win. I could have won mine if I was better prepaired and went in with the assumption the cop would lie. I expected him to tell the truth but he didn't. If he had, I would have won and he knew it.

There are always exceptions.

If your record is less than stellar, as I expect it might be Speed3max, you might be taking it in the shitter.

I've never heard of a ticket for speeding cost $2500 court costs included or not. Reckless in Va is $2500 but that's the max fine and it's spread out over 3 years as civil fees.

Come to naples,Florida. I know I have MANY TICKETS. from motorcycles to gocarts. Its a max of 2500 dollars in court fee's. That is in Collier County, naples,Fl.

I've spent a lot of time in Naples, have relatives with condos all over. I always speed, take turns quick, etc. I have always and have never had a problem. With laser it would be doubtful that he got the car next to you. I think you just got caught again and are ticked off. Considering you seem to be a moving violation before 20 you probably need to lose it for a while. In regards to the "stopping on tracks" story. You are supposed to make sure you can continue ahead on the tracks before proceding. It doesn't matter if the car in front of you stops, it's considered your fault.

When you are in flowing traffic and the person in front of you stops for no reason, you are in a situation you can't control. Law can't be just black and white, there has to be a grey area. That area is called common sense and I realize some people don't have any at all, but our judicial system has to have some. If not, then the system fails and I can understand why we have people in jail for life who are innocient.

Besides, the cop lieing would not be required if it was just black and white. Nobody in their right mind stops on train tracks in the first damn place if they have an IQ over 60 unless there is a damn good reason or they have a death wish.

If you can still go to traffic school, do that and eliminate the points. Since you don't have a good record I would advise you not to fight it as the Magistrate will pull up your motor vehicle record while you are presenting your case. They do not look kindly on habitual offenders. You could lose and in addition to having to pay the fine and court cost, you could be sentenced to a mandatory two day driving school which sucks!

The law will say you did not allow adequate following distance. Laws ARE black and white. The problem is, no situation is. Traffic citations are not like criminal or civil proceedings.
In a criminal or civil case, you are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
In traffic cases, it only has to be shown as "more than likely" or "less than likely" to have committed the charged infraction. Many times the cops win that debate because some slack jaw goes in to court, pleads not guilty, and has no leg to stand on other than saying "It wasn't me" or something of that nature.

Put your case together if you have one, brush your hair, put on some khakis and a nice button up shirt, some dressier shoes and speak intelligently and clearly stating your case. Sometimes presentation can get you far.
I've had enough tickets and driving in fractions to actually own a police cruiser. Some I've beaten, others I haven't. NEVER did I prepay a ticket and just say F it. That's what they want you to do.
