2006 Mazda 3 5-Door
So there I am. Getting ready for a shower and talking on the phone with my girlfriend when my mom knocks on the bathroom door and asks if i can move my '06 black mica hatch. I say that i am on the phone a basically naked and i say you can move it for me. It's a 5-speed by the way. Now, my mom can drive standard but I've never really seen her in action. Well, i take my shower and i'm walking out the bathroom when she comes up to me and says she had ran over a stump with my car! I, being a little confused ask WTF do you mean? There is a six inch stump on the side of my driveway that she supposedly didn't see and dumped the clutch and freaked out. She ran the back tire up over the stump and since the stump is on the top of a hill had my car teetering on two wheels. It took my father and two of his friends to lift the car around enough to get the front wheels hitting the ground. There are now scratches under the back bumper where the stump hit the car and the metal is bent under the door sills where the car was stuck.

Here's the kicker. She came up to me the next day when i was pointing out the damage to her and said "well if you would have came out this would have never happened." She then proceeds to tell me about how she did it with her impala a couple weeks previously. So she says that she will have my father cut it so it won't cause any more problems. I told her i don't think the stump is the problem.

God, i want to move out.

that SUCKS.....

a related story....

I used to have an escort hatch. I had just got done mowing the lawn and was inside taking a shower before heading over to my girlfriend's house. I had to back my car out of the garage to get out/put in the lawn mower and just left it out since I was only going to be a minute taking a shower and grabbing a bite to eat. Well, my mom decided the yard needed some trimming and was using the weed wacker....sure enough, I come out to my mom weed wacking away and a shower of glass fallen around my car. She didn't even realize that she had busted my window with some sort of debre she flicked up. I just came out and yelled, "Mom, what the hell!" and she stopped and turned to me pointing at the big hole where my window used to be. We both started laughing because there was really nothing else to do. Luckily, my mom payed for damages.

I'm probably the only one that read that and wonder why you were blocking mom's car in the first place. guess that's just me.

it's a woman thing I'm telling you... they don't think of the consequences or their limits and they just have to get the s*** they want done NOW instead of waiting 5 minutes

family driveways....it happens. At one time we had 4 cars and a two car garage/driveway with no parking on the street. We played car musical chairs all the time.

thats my house too. 5 cars when me and my sister are home. two in the garage and three in the drive way. it gets really interesting at times.

I learned when going home for visits to park in the grass on the other side of the basketball pole. My mom hit my old car twice backing out and even hit the basketball pole one time.

How did your mom justify blaming you when she is the one that doesn't know how to drive :(

"well if you would have came out this would have never happened."

i'm going to agree with mom on this one. it's your car, you (probably) parked it there, you move it. respect your parents, you are living in their house you know. your mom was probably nervous to start with.

My mom would know better than to even THINK about operating my car even WITH my permission. If I'd told her to go move my MSP, she'd laugh at me and be like, "Yeah RIGHT!"

If she was at all apprehensive about driving the car, she should've said no and insisted that he come outside immediately and move it himself. She shouldn't have even gotten into the car in the first place.

In the end, what happened sucks! Are you getting it fixed? If so, who's paying for it?

To be fair he didn't say he wouldn't move it, he just said she could (according to the story anyway) since he was naked and on the phone. If she wasn't comfortable, she's the adult and should have said, "Well, I'm not comfortable moving it, tell your girlfriend you'll call her back and move it after you're dressed."

I'm not seeing a lack of respect on his part as much as him being busy at the moment and mom not admitting she couldn't handle the task at hand.

This is the best story i've heard all day.

Lesson learned: don't hand your car keys out to people who haven't proven that they're capable of driving your car.
