recall

moonpie thats good, you had me cracking up here at work and now everyone is staring at me, o well wasnt the first time and certenly wont be the last. my understanding is it is just a reflash of to computer that takes care of it. something about no actual poroblems with parts just the calibration of the sensors and what it means, and the light is just reseting the light if its on.

I had all of them done on monday. The car seems to pull a little stronger with the new reflash. One thing i notice now is im getting girgling from the exhaust when letting off coasting down hill.. Car seems to respond better now and i dont get any hesitation like before sometimes while shifting full throttle from 2nd to 3rd.

recalls:

4607F- #4 Engine Mount
4807H- MIL Illumn
4907H- OBD II Compliance
No number in computer ( Flutter Valve )

got mine donr took 45 min from when i got it there they didnt need to replace the valve and i havnt noticed anything with reflash. well see if i still get the black sut a day after i wash the car. mabe ill do that tonight.

Got mine done yesterday. I made a lot of mental notes on the way there to do a little testing on the way home. The car felt exactly the same on the way home, one thing I forgot to do is see if it was letting off a lot of carbon on the freeway like it sometimes does under long hard accels, I couldnt get it to do it on the way home, hopefully that may be solved, but I doubt it. My car dosent feel any slower or faster, however it for some reason felt smoother when I kept on it on the freeway. But the weather was perfect out so maybe that played a role.

Basically the car feels the same so I wouldnt be worried about a power loss or anything...

There is a recall concerning:

Obd-ii Compliance Voluntary Emission Recal

Q: Why are some of this type of vehicle involved, and others are not?
A: Recalls are vehicle specific and are issued for certain vehicles based on the production date and component. If your vehicle is not affected, it may be because it was built at a different time or using a different part than the affected vehicles.

Q: Why can't I submit the reimbursement form electronically?
A: Your reimbursement form must be submitted via US Mail, because a signature is required on the form.

Q: Are all recalls listed on this site?
A: Please be aware that there are regional and state-by-state campaigns that are not VIN-specific and may not be shown on My Mazda. If you have recently moved, please check with your Mazda dealer to see if there are special campaigns in your area.

Q: If I have further questions, how do I find out more information regarding this Recall?

i got my warranty work done yesterday, they replaced the valve and "recalibrated the pcm" the car doesnt feel any different from before and ill have to see if i still get puffs of black smoke when i floor it.

should i take my intake off to go get this recall done? just curious.

I didn't take mine off when I had my recall work done, but then... I have the Mazdaspeed intake. ^_^;; I've been told by the sales rep that they're lenient with the mods, so I wouldn't have worried even if I owned some other brand. I guess it depends on the dealership though.
