when you had the 626 mani did you have idling issues?

I just swapped a 626 onto mine and now I have a serious idle problem....could be for some other reasons but it started happening when the 626 went on

sorry for the threadjack, just a quick question

No problem dude, tj away! Sorry, I was talking about the intake manifold, but the exhaust manifold aka header. All I know is, when I cleaned my EGR valve like in the 'how-to' section, it ruined my idle and my car would stall sometimes. I had to reinstall it and make sure it was on proper. You may want to check into that.

I use to have that exhaust header with the Racing Beat cat-back....it sounded gewd!!

oh lol

I didnt realize the exhaust side was universal too, but then I just realized that your not turbo (or at least werent at the time, dunno about now)

thanks though...ll try the EGR, that might actually be the issue

glad to hear about you taking out the K-sports

looks like your intake will be in on Monday :)

Sweet, thanks!

I drove around today and it is a HUGE difference. It feels great and the drop is almost the same as the K-Sports (2" all around). The rear wheel gap is almost 0 and the front is maybe an inch to 2 inches. I have NO complaints and I am really happy with this (illuminas + sportline) combo!

TTT

AutoExe Carbon Fiber intake installed ;)

Thanks Rogue! It was a little hard with no instructions... took me a couple tries... as well as hours hehe.

Yes, I need to post a ton of pictures :] Just no time to take them o.O

sorry about that...i'm glad you got it figured out!! Doesn't it look sexy?

Yah, somewhat. Good question. I am very... surprised how hot the CF box gets. I think the filter will get heat soaked! Man... I don't think it helps haha. Does yours get hot after driving Efren?

it suppoesed to help since it c/f and fiberglass and not metal. also the box keeps hot engine air away from the intake and mounted close to headlights to get cooler air from there=) mine is mounted close to the corner because of fitment issues.

Oh I see. Yah, mine is mounted really close to the radiator... A little too close I think.

Obviously, not my car, but if you look at the picture, you can tell how close it is. I put electrical tape on the cf next to the radiator so it doesn't crack or anything.

isnt it closer to the intercooler? cause the intercooler is right there...

EDIT:
Forgot this was a P5....but in any case, if the intercooler (which needs to cool the air down as much as possible) is on that side of the radiator and follows up and down its length then it really shouldnt be too much of an issue for that I would think

L8R is NA, no turbo here

notice the edit =P

my logic is that in a msp...which doesnt have the same radiator, but its just a smaller one...the intercooler runs along its length

you dont want direct heat on an intercooler or else it doesnt really serve its purpose

if they can place an intercooler right next to a radiator without any issues, then I would think that that intake shouldnt have a problem there (I know its a p5 with the bigger radiator)
