What about my question regarding dynos?

not trying to put a downer on your question, but i think dynoing is going to be the members' responsibility. I doubt Brach is going to spend a bunch of money to run several different comparison pulls at 100 bucks an hour!

The gains are going to be very minimal, probably to the point where you wont even feel them.

Well a pair of pulls with "before and after" all of the pulleys wouldn't be THAT much to ask. I mean it is part of the cost of testing and researching ANY product...

yeah but he's a guy making a product for the members, he doesnt own a shop or a corporation. Im betting he is tryin to maximize all total profit which means no dynos considering the cheap cost he is selling them at. But hey ask him, he was just online.

seriously I wasnt trying to like put you down or anything like that. I just see it like this...Him putting these thing out is like the equivalent of me or you making them because we have a buddy with the machines. So we make a bunch and sell them super cheap because we can make a few bucks and do something good for the forum. So if I was in that position I would probably want to personally dyno my car! but at the same time I can understand why he might not. Lightwieght pulleys are proven to work and generally they gain under 10 hp. I mean they definately work, but they certainly arent going to throw you back in the seat!

I've asked the question twice in this thread, and I will not PM him about it because everyone who is interested should know the answer...

I can't disagree with wanting to minimize cost, but look at any other GB relating to power and you'll always see people asking for dyno results before putting forward cash; especially if the amount is a big one. I'm not saying there won't be a difference and that he's scamming us like crazy because I'm sure he's not, I just think that someone wanting to put forward a product needs to realize there are costs involved with putting out a new product, and that there is an inherent risk in doing so. If your product is good enough, then you will make that money back...

I'm ALL for someone wanting to fill a void in a market, helping others out, and all that good stuff, but it's just the nature of business, that's all.

Anyway that's enough typed about that, I would just like an answer regardless of the outcome.

**** it dude, I'll be happy to pm him myself and get the answer for you. This is a long ass thread for him to be checking up on all the time while he's making these things and if you really care that much about the answer you should know that pming him is the way to go rather than trying to make the guy look bad for not responding to your post. Personally I'd like to thank Brach for taking the time out of his schedule to produce parts for a car with a small aftermarket. As for the power I am going to ask him, but anyone who knows anything about cars is going to have a good idea of what a lightweight pulley is going to do for them and if they dont...well then they shouldnt be messing with their car in the first place.

The PS pulley is going to be $65 shipped.I dropped them off at anodize and it was 2X more than I was orginally quoted. It's because they are bigger and will take longer. So the PS pulley will be $65 shipped.

$65's cool w/me ... settled on the 5 hole pulley, right?
As soon as you're taking payments for that one, I'm ready.

Will camgears be one color, or a two tone option?

I'm not trying to make him look bad, I've already bought 2 of the products, and something else in an unrelated thread which I'm waiting anxiously to arrive.

I've already thanked him a while ago for his great work, and I also have a general idea, but since I've NEVER seen a dyno for a pulley, I would be curious to see one as it would also be an added bonus for sales for him.
I'll end my ranting on that, and wish the man luck in all of the testing of his future products seeing as I'm planning on having the full set myself as you can see by my signature (2 paid for, waiting on the other 2).

Brach, first and foremost. Many, many props to you for doing this. I know what a headache organizing a group buy like this can be like, and it is painful. One thing that may help sell even more, is to possibly create a thread for each item (I.e. one for the PS pulley, one for the WP pulley, etc.) That way, you can keep the 1st post in each thread updated with the latest for that item (like you are now), but it may keep the amount of questions to a minimum, and therefore easier for you.

Also, a google search returned 0 hits for "Brach Motorsports" good buddy!

Good luck, and again, thank you very much for taking the initiative and time to do this!!

werd, I also had trouble with googling Brach Motorsports....However if you go by the company's other name "Brach's super hot xxx fleshy ass tickling motorsports" you'll have better luck...well better luck so to speak...

Guys, lol, he just started these things. I don't think there is a company name that has been mentioned.

This is for Culrid.

I have not done any dyno testing for a few reasons. First being cost. To buy time on a dyno up here to do back to back (stock then switching parts) dyno results without removing the car would cost several hundred dollars. This is the only way to make it accurate. At this time I do not have the time to do that. Working full time, plus doing the pulleys, along with day to day living cores there is not enough time in the day. I do plan to do a dyno day when I have all the pulleys done. Not piece by piece. Light weight pulleys are not new to the market. They have been around for sometime and typically people see 5-7 Horsepower with light weight accessory pulleys. Just because we have mazda's does not mean we will not see similar gains. As for the crank pulley, I would guess around 3-5 HP for that. But the dyno will tell the numbers when a get on it.

I'm trying to upload pictures of the WP pulley and it's weight, but my computer will not reconize my camera for some reason now. So I'm going to reinstall the software and have it loaded tonight.
Until then here is what they weight.
Stock water pump pulley weights 211 grams. The light weight comes in at 112 grams.

The WP pulley are at the anodizer and will be ready on Thursday. I will be shipping those off on Thursday and Friday. The PS pulley is in work. I had to order tooling for the splined center section. That will be here tomorrow and I'll be able to finish the first test PS pulley.

The pictures came out horrible. Not sure why, but I'll take more when I they come back from the anodizer on Thursday.
