any stock ms3's running 13.7 or faster?

rota slip streams from a friends rsx still street tires and thats why the 60ft. was only 2.0. I think the reason my trap was as low as it was because I was only running 15psi in these tires. Kills trap speed. I am trading in my tires this week for some 225s and new wheels and didnt want to waste any rubber. The next time I hit the track i will be on 15s and slicks. Also running 20psi. 12s here I come.

Ps. This was with only 350 miles. Car pulls alot better now.

Mazdaspeed 3 for the win!!

Speaking of good times, I saw this on a Mercedes forum and found it amusing.

2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK500 with 20,000 miles

The night ended with a race with me, the Trailblazer SS, and a Mazdaspeed 3. The Mazda pulled on me from 50-130! We ran multiple times and he got me each time, plus he had his girl in his car. He was a very cool guy though, lots of respect. Good driver too, I was very impressed by both his shifting and his sleeper car.

About the Mazda, the guy said it was lightly modded. It was an Asian dude. You could hear the turbos spooling.

I never got a chance to run the TrailBlazer...looks like I'll have to wait till winter when he comes back from college but he told me he also got pulled on by the Mazda.

Here is a little information on the vehicles that the Mazdaspeed 3 beat.

I am sorry but 15s wont fit. the brakes are too big.

Yeah um slicks is not bone stock. Not trying to be a dick but slicks is a mod. Like me taking my srt to the track and saying bone stock but I'm spraying. The car maybe stock but I have a mod on it :)

I thought that too but when i read his post on srtforums .com -

I was on some 16inch slip streams with some regular street radials. i just didnt want to burn the stockers off because I am trading them in this week for some 225s. My friend let me borrow them off of his rsx. If I was on drag radials the 60ft. would have probably been a low 1.9 or high 1.8 and 13.4s for sure. Im not here to agrue the car ran what it did. I have no reason to lie. This saturday the car will be on trak light 15s with custom wheel spacers and some 24in. slicks. Boost hopefully set at 20psi.

The hole was cut after the runs were made. The car was only 3 days old when I took it to the track. I still havent even seen the video. my buddy posted it today for me and I havent even seen it. LOL

He states that they were some reg street tires....so I guess we can chalk it up to just using a lighter wheel maybe?..... how much does the ms3 stock wheel tire weigh vs the rota's?

stock wheel and tire is 48lbs. 18 inch wheel. Tires are 24 and the wheels are 24
Rota are 16 inches and weigh liek 15lbs, the tires are also smaller and lighter. No only did he severly reduce his gear ratios, being able to ride out 5th a hell of a lot longer, but im guessing he dropped at least 12lbs per wheel.

If that's the case then I say that would give him a few 10ths and i would not call that stock....sorry driver311 but I can't see how you can claim that.

btw i hope no1 takes this the wrong way, i just dont consider it a stock run. Nothing agains the times, its a great time

You guys are kidding me right. I never claimed anything. The car was bone ******* stock and i venture to say I could run a 13.5 no problem in a bone ass stock one even on stock tires. Apparently none of you have a damn clue about drag racing a turbo car. Shorter gearing kills boosted cars for trap and et. In my srt I was losing 2mph and 2 tenths on 23s vs. 24s. I thought this was an informative thread not a bash on the new guy because he layed down better times at the track than the rest of you. Remember I was running at 3000ft. of elevation and that alone kills my trap speeds. you guys highly underestimate what difference a skilled drag racer can make in a car. Ive been drag racing for 10years and have 3 track championships under my belt. I know what it takes to go fast and be consistant. The simple fact is you guys will come up with any and all excused to throw out my stock times claim. i know the car had more in it on the stock tires even. 13.5@ 103 is what I would have run if more miles were on the car and I was running more psi in the tires. That kills the trap speed. Just deal with it. I dont really care what you want to label my runs as. i ran those times with absolutely no mods to the car. Different front radials and I believe they hurt me if anything. Just deal with it. Ill make haters out of everyone before I convert you to believers. Ill keep driving and you guys do what you do. b****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

way to be an idiot. You do realize that riding out 5th gear will actually IMPROVE your trap speed right? Changing wheels on a car is not stock buddy. You realize you are bench racing saying your car will pick up 3mph lol? Good luck. You just labeled yourself a tool.

btw can you post or scan the slip...i want to see the exact break down of it.
