eyelids paint code????

So i just bought a pair of unpainted ABS eyelids for my MS6. i need to paint them myself and was wondering if anyone has done this mod? what is the best compant to match paints? do i just spray and thats it, or do i need a clear coat?

The kit that paintscratch.com offers is great, but if you only have to paint a couple of eyelids, the cost might seem to much. Good product though...

the paint cost more than the eyelids hehe

paintscratch paint is awesome and dead on. I did my eyelids w/ their rattlecan product for my car and it came out perfect.

I did mine with a can from AutoZone and it was pretty close, not as good as Taylor's though.

yeah, most of their paints are 2 step paints that you have to clear coat. I probably put on 3 coats of color and sanded inbetween and then about 3 coats of clear and wet sanded. Then you just get some 3M rubbing compound and buff the s*** out of them.

Also, the metal flake in the rattle can actually matched the OEM paint perfectly

see i have no clue how to do that, i thought it was just a spray and thats it.

why do you sand it?
and does wet sand make it shiny?

You sand it to get any imperfections in the paint out and make it smooth. Wet sanding is a way to do this without strippin the paint.

Its actually quite easy, this was my first time doing any kind of autobody paint.

My advice, follow their instructions and buy everything they list in the instructions (some of it you can buy locallly for cheaper like the rubbing compound and different sand papers)
