Can Mazda 5 be towed behind an RV?

I'm new member and new Mazda 5 owner as of May 2007. I was wondering if the 5 can be towed behind a motorhome on all four wheels... I have a MT, so I figured that it shouldn't be a problem. The owner's manual, however, says that it shouldn't be towed more than a short distance. I would prefer not to use a dolly. Does anyone have any suggestions? Mazda Canada wasn't all that helpful...

how much does it cost to get a trailer for towing the 5? I think the extra wear on the drivetrain by towing it is not worth it.

Mazda Canada is a last resort when it comes to getting any advice and information. They are as useless as 'tits on a bull'.
I would speak to your local mechanic at the dealership. Having said that, if the manual warns against it, then perhaps that it the answer right there.
