Ford S-Max coming to the US?

Naaah, really? Well, who knows. I would say that for NA Ford/Mazda has enough in their hands building on the Mazda5 model concept to already start creating its own competition...

So let me see, you have a sports car company like Mazda and it has the 2.3 then you take the Ford and you give it the turbo motor. Let's try and figure out why their sales are in the tank. Give the 5 the turbo, let the Ford have a small V6 and call it a day. You give the domestic market the torque of a V6 and the import buyers the punch of a turbo 4. To me, it just makes sense, but I guess I am not able to see the future like the Ford executives.

Its too awesome therefore mazda will never do it. Thats the reason they didn't build an MSP5. It would have been so awesome, it would have ripped a hole in the space time continuum

MazdaSpeed5 sounds nice, but I agree, I don't see Mazda putting money on this pet project. Although we think it can sell well, I'm afraid to say that the fellas in this forum do not represent the majority of the target market (I won't go that far, the car is driven by my wife).

For these type of cars I would only see turbo if:
a) It is the only engine manufacturer's they can fit in there
b) It is Diesel
c) It is really needed to haul the car around.

I friend of mine has a VW Sharan with a 1.8L turbo (south of the border). The turbo is there because it really needs it otherwise the thing wouldn't move. As for the Mazda5, it is not the most powerful thing around but does not "need" a turbo IMO

Now, I'm talking Mazda business, if it was for me, I would love to have one, no doubt (eekdance). That ride would be (sick)
