has anyone painted there stock rims????

i have definately thougth about doing the same thing. i think dark charcoal rims on a titanium would look awesome.

That would probably look like crap. I'm not a fan of rims that are colored anything other than the common colors: gunmetal, silver, black, bronze, etc.

i have mine powdercoated, Matte Black....heres a pic without the emblems in the middle...this is when they were first done, i currently have emblems on them now....

I know this isn't a protege, but my stock speed3 wheels were powdercoated by a place in Oklahoma... they do really good work and are about the cheapest I've ever found. They are also the only place in the TX/OK area that would even attempt a two tone job.... Here's their info....

that looks SICK! if i had bigger rims on my M3i i'd do something. right now i'm looking for hte RX8 wheels and i'll be happy!

yeah i think i am gonna go for it after some performance mods.
i think the matte black finish would look good on my silver mazdaspeed especially with the red calipers.

how much would getting those rims powder coated cost? i like that

my total was $450.... $150 for media blasting (which striped it down to the bare bare metal) and $300 for the powdercoat... in my opinion, WELL WORTH IT...especially since they are Racing Harts...

Mine were done at a discount.... but for the translucent 3-stage red, two tone...(like mine) it would be about $230/wheel depending on the number of spokes.. layout of the wheel...etc.. as there is ALOT of taping involved.

For a single stage (simple color) two tone they told me about 130/wheel.. (I asked because now I want to do some RX8 wheels in a similar fashion).

If you want a simple one coat, the price would drop drastically.

You will probably have a hard time finding a shop that will powder two tone with a straight edge like that. If you do, I doubt you will find it cheaper than I stated above. If you do though, let me know!!!

BTW if you are interested, just send them a picture of your wheel and what you want done and they can give you an estimate as every wheel is different.

Ask for Randy or Laurie and tell them Alex sent you.

Has anyone done touch ups or repairs on thier stock wheels? Mine had a couple curbed spots from the previous owner and I want to touch it up. Anyone know the paint color I should use or do I need to just go into the store and find the closest match?

Those black powder coated wheels look really good.....

Thanks Guys!

Yeah... I was gonna paint mine, but I wouldn't find the color of rattle can I wanted at Walmart! J/K
If I changed mine then I would not be rollin Stockymoto style!(hand)
