anyone running open downpipe

what if u do like a custom 4-5inch exhaust? cant that give the same results as open downpipe?..just a guess since the turbo diesel trucks have 5 inches

all i got to say is i just raced a friends red ms3. he has a cpe downpipe and a catback exhoust with the cpe cai. (i think cpe is the name of the company) everytime we raced i pulled him about a car. my mods are
ms cai, open stock dp. and if u are wondering the kid can drive.

Maybe your intercooler was a bit cooler then his!!!

Heat soak kills these cars, intake temps pull timing faster then it takes Bush to f*** up a speech.

do you have any pics of this, where did you get your parts, where did you mount switch? Im in the procces of aquiring the parts for this. my friend had that kind of setup on srt-4 and it made a load of diffrince.

it means nothing. some cars are just freaks. two identicle cars will never be exactly the same, even with the same driver. you can line up 2 stock cars and one can consistently be faster for no reason. trust me its not the open DP i have seen it on the dyno... there is no gain.

i dont know on our car but on the srt-4 it made a huge diffrence the difrence of two car leangths in a 30 to 90 roll. How can it not help, the turbo gets to breath better quicker spool wider power band. granted we may not see a lot of the gains beacuse big brother may be interfering more then we would like.

all of the exhaust restriction on this car is in the DP. the catback is very well designed. it can flow any amount of exhaust the stock motor can put out
with perfect efficiency. AMS and BELL ENGINEERING have done dyno tests that prove it.
