Engine #3 For Me!

That's cause the piston was slapping back and forth in the cylinder since it was missing a piece.

That shouldn't matter...the skirt is enough to hold the thing into place. But obviously that piston took some extreme heat and expanded.

Dunno. Search around here for "TOGA oil pump" and see what you come up with. It's not a high pressure pump apparently, but high volume. (There is a difference.) I always have enough oil with that deep sump pan, so I don't think it would be a problem.

So what's a few more bucks? :D

Thats the right attitude. But I hate to see you rebuild and go through this again. Have you changed the cams or any other valve components? When the engine was assembled was the piston to valve clearance checked?

had they not be checked he would've done this on the first crank

Props to you MAXX...

I know I would keep building mine, just figured that I was the only WIERDO on the planet...

Take a really good look at the Toga pump when you get it. I thought I bought one used a long time ago, but it turned out to be completely identical to my stock pump. I don't know if I got jipped or if the pump just isn't very different. Please keep us informed.

The genuine TOGA pumps have a red "HV" stamped on them. Import Performance parts sells them for $240.
