Can Illegal inmigrants apply for welfare?
no, but community healthcare, free clinics, library, community pools, basically any community service paid for by taxes are currently accesible. the problem with that is that taxes pay for it, but if a disproportionate number of people use those services dont pay for them, then the community goes into debt to pay for them. which is bad. and i am VERY againstCan Illegal inmigrants apply for welfare?

you dont just GET citizenship. you apply, you prove that you can work to be an integrated part of american society and you do all that entails. my great grand parents did it, and so did generations of americans. you cant break a federal law then be like oh hey your a citizen. thats not how becoming an american worksThen give them citizenship.

Everything he said was spot on and he only singles out the abusers of the welfare system, not the general recipiants.
I will translate the signs:
If you take drugs, you should not get welfare
If you can be drug tested to get a job you should HAVE to be drug tested to be on welfare.
If you cant afford children, you should not have them and you should not be able to stay on welfare if you have more while on it. You definitly should not be able to get more money for being a POS that just cranks out kids.
Welfare it to help people for a short time not be a consistan income, if it is...you suck at life, please take teh first door out of it. Welfare should be accessable for 6 months, after that you are on your own.
The ignorant ones are the people who thought that those signs applied to all or even a mass amount of welfare people, black pleople, mexicans, or anyone esle. It did not, it very tastefully targets criminals and low lifes.
I know I am sick of having to support these Peices of crap and if I had a sign Id be saying alot worse.

yes, it is. if you go through the proper process. if the us let everyone in that wanted to be in we would have major overcrowding problemsIsnt the US the Land of opportunity, land of the free?
i agree with all of those points, but i strongly disagree with the "just make them all citizens approach. that is the wrong way to approach the problemPlease bear in mind that the INS is SO SCREWED UP. They are a complete waste of space and many people that try to go trhough the system cant becuase teh system screws up and holds them accountable.
I have a friend that has been in this country for 20 years and the government has made her reapply 3 times becuase they keep loosing her file. Not to mention all the crap they put her through with that. Luckily she has been here since she was 3 and her parents legaly immigrated so she can not be deported. Others are not so lucky.
Obvously this is not the process of a great many spanish speaking illegals entering this country which make up the bulk of the problem. But in general the system by which you gain entry needs to be radicly simplified as should the citizenship process.
The other part to that is that it should be a $100,000 fine to employ an illegal. That will end illegal immigration over night.
My final thought is that becoming a citizen should take four things:
1. Five years of no recorded felonies
2. $5000 payed to the system to which they get immediate use of the day they become a citizen and that they have truely been using over those 5 years.
3. You have to have entered this country legally. Illegal entry bars someone from ever gaining citizenship.
4.Speak enough english to pass a 6th grade level general english assesmet test. No need to know all the history behind the country or any of that crap. Just need to know enough english so that these people are not a further burden on the US citizens by needing interpater services everywhere they go not to mention be able to read enough to travel safetly.

It is not a function of capitalism that allows it. Actualy the idea of a hand out is a complete opposite of capitolism. You have that on all places, specially where capitalism is the economic idea. Here in PR we see a lot of people appliyng and taking benefits here, narrowing the chances of the people in real needs to get them.
But guess what, that how you government works, if you think its a real issue, write to the senate, congress, president...dont come to the TV news to make a showoff, do the right thing.

well, then you need to review the US foreign policies, which most of US americans dont know.
Take for example. I have a friend, US citizen, born in US Soil, he met a girl from Colombia...and now they are in love. He wants to marry her and live with her in the US.
She already showed she can work, she has BA in Psycology, working in some good reputable company, but the US has denied 3 times the VISA...
how can you explain that?
