Project: 2000 Mazda Demio DW3W.

:
10 MS3
What's up everyone?! Well I finally made it to Japan(1 week ago). The family and I are beginning to settle in. I know some of you will be wondering why the hell did I choose a Demio (DW3W) to start a project. Well the answer is simple, in Okinawa the highest speed limit is 80 KPH, most used cars out here are Autotragics, and everyone and their mom drives a Skyline(Non GTR/Non Turbo). My goal is to give this car a little bit of USDM flavor with a touch of JDM :D. Most mods will be suspension, exterior and some go fast bits(I/H/E). The car eventually will go to my wife and I will end up getting an FD or something else not seen on this island. I hope some of you guys can guide me in the right direction as far as finding some replacement(OEM) parts. Pics to come.

No 01's were available. It'sso hard to get a 2000+ car out here w/o paying cash up front. I'm currently working on getting the HU out and springs. I also want to get rid of my 13's (eek2)

First MOD! My wifey surprised me with a new HU for fathers day and I wasted no time. Install went the same as the Protege, thank goodness or else I would have been hurting. After install I found out the car came with no Front Speakers :(. Im hoping an MSP din pocket will fit.

I'm here for 3 years, or should I say my family will be here for 3 years and I'll be around the area. I have heard rumors that there is now a company that will bring your car up to specs and ship it to the U.S. I am not sure if the Demio will come back with us. As far as the my other babies, both are in storage :(.

yeah i'm sure if you throw enough money at someone they'll be able to make any vehicle US legal. Storage for 3 years? :( that would make me so sad

Congrats on your new car! =D Rims have gotta be a top priority on that?

Hope all goes well for you in Japan, what are you and your family doing there?

Welcome to Japan (hi) :D Demios are cool little cars...I had a bad ass one setup on Gran Turismo a few years ago :p

This should be a fun project car...Keep us updated!

.............Welcome to Japan... The land of NO-English. Just registered.

Update:
Well I finally received my Trust intake.

Before installing this intake I felt the car lagged and had little pull going uphill. Come to find out the stock filter was filthy, so after installing this there was a noticeable improvement in overall response. I have yet to reset my ecu, so we will see how that goes.

On another note, Project Demio might be taking a back seat for a while. I picked this up at a good price and the potential(parts) is there:

that looks like it might be fun, what is it?

Yeah, it's a very fun car. It's a 97 Toyota Starlet Glanza V
1.3L Turbo 130 hp 130 lbs ft.
2200 lbs.

I'm still doing research, but apparently it can take 200 hp on stock internals. I have already started with the modding :D :

Too bad it's not a Mazda :(...Although the Starlet is no doubt a great "budget" project car...I used to see some when I first came to Japan but now when I think about it...I haven't seen one in ages!
