I did the Tail of the Dragon last Friday and it was so worth the drive. We were up in TN for our Honeymoon. My husband ran it twice and I ran it once after him. I had a jerk on a GSX-R come about 2 feet over the DOUBLE YELLOW line, on one of the curves, into my lane and scared the crap outta me. After I got passed him and got the feel of the curves, I was having a great time. I can't wait to do it again.
He's gone up there the past two years and ran the Tail of the Dragon with his YZF600 group - they have an online forum & meet up at the Tail once a year. He's taken the bike out there several times and enjoys it. He knew "The Little Yellow Car" (my P5) would love it. She did and she got her little yellow Dragon decal for "taming the Dragon."
north georgia is full of mountain roads which are both scenic and fun to drive. with the help of photoshop and google maps, i've started mapping out some of my favorite drives, including the best roads local to me:
