There wil be a Track and Tune Street Car track day at Talladega Grand Prix on Aug 9th. Some of you have already had a blast on this 1.4 mile road course, but for those of you who haven't I highly recommend it!!! The track was re-paved earlier this year, and they have expanded the course to go behind the grand stand area. To have the track for the day is $1500, with a max of 12 cars. So figure $125-$150 depending on how many participants we get.

Please let me know by end of this week if you can make this date. If I can get enough folks I'd like to have the track reserved by next Monday. Please forward this to any fellow auto enthusiasts that may be interested in attending.

It will be first come first serve, well first pay first serve!!

Please email me at bschonk@gmail.com if you are interested

Here is the track website:

Track facts:
1.4 mile road course
only 90 miles from Atlanta

Are you serious?!?! It only costs $1,500. to rent out the track for one day? Or is it just a smaller portion of the track? Lime Rock Park, a racetrack here in CT wants $23,500. (rent) per day. And the smaller, Skip Barber Autocross Course costs $500. per hour.

$1500 for the day is correct. Little Tally has always been pretty friendly to renters. The biggest restriction is the small number of entrants allowed, but that's beside the point that it's a pretty nice track to blow a few hours on. It's no Road Atlanta or Mid-Ohio, but it definately is fun.

I haven't driven it since its reconfiguration, but hope to do so once I have a car ready enough to maximize the experience.

I confirmed the track reservation yesterday. I have a few spots left, lots of folks have showed interest but have yet to pay. It will be first pay first get the spot to play! If you are interested, please email me at bschonk@gmail.com As of now it is looking like it will be $130 per car.

This is a great track, and you can't beat the amount of seat time you get for the buck!

I'll talk to the wife, see if that could be my birthday present!

Damn... if I wasn't looking to buy a house in the next few months I'd be all over this....

TGPR is always a good deal..... but damn... Aug. 9 is gonna be HOT AS HELL at TGPR....
