Just a heads up for those who might be wanting a dual exhaust for their Speed6, but didn't want to go with Magnaflow. There is an interest thread on another 6 forum and there are now enough people signed up for CP-E to go ahead with getting this out there.

I know that it might still be a while before we are able to buy this, but it does now look like it will be another exhaust option. Choices are always good!

Same here. The bumper has two holes for a reason, so lets get that dual exhaust.

Okay, are you guys sitting down? Final price will be $1,100.00. This nets you three mufflers (one at the head of the system, the other two mounted one on either side) and associated pipes w/hanger mounts etc. I have to give it serious thought before I sink that kind of money into a system. Be nice to hear it as well. Personally I am wondering if they decided to set the price high to drive off people bothering them about doing a dual system (as initially it was estimated to be $150-200 more than the existing single system).

$1,100 is a disappointment for an exhaust...... I'll go the same route as the custom fab work and ask my friend if he can do that for me at his shop...... I'm not putting $1,100 into an exhaust system......don't care WHO makes it.

yeah, but you can get quality custom exhaust at a good local shop for 600-700

What he said.......and I can get quality custom from my buddy for maybe $400 if he has the time and decides to build it for me....

HOLY CRAP! 1100 bucks. That's freakin outrageous. I'm sorry, that damn exhaust better be gold plated. That's not paying to play, that's just overpriced period. Go to a good custom shop and pay half the price. There is one thing I've noticed about the ms6. Everything is so damn expensive. I sold my 92 RS camaro before I moved to Tn. When I purchased the car it had the V6. So about 1 year and 4 grand later, I personally build a kick @$$ car that would smoke a highly moded ms6 all day long. But, I sold it due to horible fuel economy and the ms6 will smoke the camaro on a road course any day of the week.

Guys, you gotta understand how much time, effort, and materials goes into such a system. We also don't outsource any of the manufacturing, so everything is done in-house. If we shipped everything to China, we could easily cut our costs by a third. And many companies do this, but quality control suffers. We think this is part of what makes us so different from our competition though.

I'm sure some of you can find a dual exhaust that is cheaper than what we offer, but is their weld quality good? TIG or MIG? 304 stainless or 409? How many mufflers? Will they use stamped steel hangers and laser cut flanges like we do? We don't just artificially inflate our prices. In fact, despite what you guys may think, we make very little on our products.

Just as a 'for instance,' we have tried to break into the BMW market, and we recently made a dual exhaust system for the BMW 335i. We used premium bright annealed 304 stainless pipe, two oval mufflers, and two tips. The cost? $1575, and that's just the introductory price! But before you say, "Holy sh*t, what a rip off!" This so far, has been one of the most inexpensive exhaust systems on the market for the 335i.

I know many people think cheaper is better, but more often than not, you get what you pay for.

Anyway, enough whining (on my part). If anyone is interested, you can follow this link here to add your name to the list:

I have a question.....does this in anyway combat the substantial "smoking" issue at idle that many people seem to run into?

Don't get me wrong, I understand about good quality, and the need for profit although you say that you don't make much... I couldn't tell for sure. Nothing personal against you but I know people will say one thing and mean another to get a point across or sell an item....

I can go to my friend and get a nice custom exhaust made, he would use 304 stainless and definitely do a nice TIG weld for me. But that's only cause he's my buddy and giving me a "hook up"

So I understand what you mean, but $1,100 is still a lot of money to pay for a "bolt on" performance part, that isn't going to give me much of a HP gain.... for only an extra $500 one could take that $1,100 and purchase a more powerful turbo for their MS6........... just my 2 cents.

And I know you guys make good parts cause I'm considering a CP-E CAI.

I have a question....... the magnaflow exhaust only has one outlet?

Because I saw something on a performance site, selling it, about the magnaflow catback and the description suggests that it has dual outlets (for the dual holes in the rear bumper)..... but apparently it only has one outlet?

Sorry cp-e, didn't mean to put you down or anything like that. I'm just a little shell-shocked about the prices to beaf up an import or tuner car or what ever these types vehicles are called. I'm used to building muscle cars and there is a huge difference in price most likely due to the larger amount of demand for the muscle car part and the volume. I hope that 10-20 years from now tuner parts will be just as cheap. As for now, I'll keep mine stock. Well maybe???

I think you get what you pay for. I love the parts CPE makes for the MS6. The quality and the detail in the craftsmenship is great.I have the whole line except for the FMIC. I have the Magnaflow system and I am not happy with the sound. thats why im selling the magnaflow and got the CPE Turbo Back System. My friend has it in his MS3 and it sounds great and increase HP and Torqe.Belive me the extra money is worth it. Peace Out

the magnaflow is dual exhaust, but its only 2.5" instead of three. stock its already around 2.25" so there is little to no power gain, plus we've heard horror stories about fitment, and a couple people had bumpers melt (but it seems like it was more an installation issue, not sure though)

Thanks for that info, so people want the 3 inch to go with the 3" DP right? and CP-E has a 3" dual? but man I dunno 1,100 is a lot, I could get their FMIC for that much money : \
