Worlds best O2 tuner/clamp by MPI

Anyone who is running the MPI Tuner and extra injectors can now do full O2 tuning. If you do not want to do any tuning of the stock injectors, this is for you. You will only have to change three settings and move a few wires. You will then be able to tune you O2 for complete closed loop AFR control. While every O2 clamp on the market clamps voltage only. Our setup will allow you to program the O2 output to control your AFR in closed loop. You will be able to get rid of any over rich stumbles cause by the O2 clamping hitting to hard. You can add as fuel fuel as you need as boost builds. It will work just as good in 5th gear 2 psi @ 2,500 rpms as 2nd gear 10 psi @ 5,500. Smooth fuel curve from idle to redline.

Anyone running the MPI Tuner can make the change over in less then an hour. Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
 
As long as you already have xtra injectors, there's nothing else to buy. I have mine setup this way right now and it works. The car drives absolutly stock out side of boost. I tune in extra fuel via the injectors and also via the clamping capabilities. This is definatly for those who don't like to tune the stock injectors.

I'm not done with my map because of bad whether, but when I'm done I'll post if there are any issues, I don't forsee any issues though. I posted this in another thread, but here is an example of how it works. I had no values in the analog tab at all.(that's where you tune the O2 now) I went to 5th gear on a nice flat straight piece of road and at 2k RPM's I started to accelerate slowly and build a little boost. At 2psi I was seeing 15's-16 AFR, BAD!!!! So in the column of the map I was in, I made it -100's and went to the exact same place, gear and RPM's but this time I was in the low 13's AFR. That's 2 points richer from changing 1 value.

I am also working on the load based tuning so it doesn't matter which gear you're in, you will get enough fuel. I have yet to see and fuel being pulled by the ECU. I was going to change back to the old setup right as I'm done, but I'll keep it this way for a couple of weeks to see if I need to re-tune it. This way, or any other way, will not make a difference if you already have some other issues with you car. If you have issues, get them fixed and then tune.
 
allright i am interested, i have extra injectors so what do i do now?? is their a how to?

I was waiting to get all of the testing done first. Bottom line is you can go this way if you do not run alot of boost, no more then 12-14. You will need to have a MAF clamp. Ours is not done yet. Also you need to have extra injectors.
 
Sorry I havn't posted much on this in a while. I just moved across country and things have been pretty busy with the holidays and the move. I will try to get the map done up and finish everything.

I personally like the MAF tuning better, it lets you get more fuel sequentially and extra fuel in batch. The new way makes you use the xtra injectors more, so I don't think it's optimum fuel delivery.

BTW, I would definatly recommend a WBO2 since you are modifying the O2 voltage. The A/F meter in the SW is acurate with the MAF tuning setup, but this way it gets a bit off as you manipulate it.
 
Well I finally got the map done. It pulls nice and I'm in a pretty good A/F range, between 11.7-12.2 or so. I just sent Nick the info so he can look at it and if there's something else he wants tested, I'll do it. I have yet to have ANY issues with the ECU pulling fuel. The map I have been runnning, before I tweaked it today, was pretty close to how it is no. Absolutly no fighting the ECU, it stays steady. I put about 100+ miles on it after the re-tune and still is just like it was when I tweaked it.

I just put the clamp setup in the entire range that I am in boost and tuned the xtra inhectors for the additional fuel. I thought the A/F meter on the SW was incorrect, but it pretty much shows the real deal like it did before. All this for no extra cost. I am not using the TM to clamp the O2 or add fuel, it's all in the different wiring and settings. I could of done a little more fine tuning on the clamp part, but I didn't feal like I needed to, since this map probably won't be as usefull for a smaller turbo setup. (I have more lag) This will give a good starting point for anyone who wants to do it, that has xtra injectors. You can get the jist of things by looking at mine. BTW, it's on 91 octane and about 60 or so degree's in AZ
 
Good to see!! I may have finally made a break-thru on my car today. Both O2 Sensors are repalced, but for some reason the 1st one isn't sweeping anymore. It was sweeping fine yesterday when it was replaced. I did move it today, so I will check on it tomorrow.
 
The setup is now a done deal for anyone who wants to try this setup please let me know. I would only run the this setup for lower boost cars. Under 5 psi without extra injectors and 8 psi with one extra injector.

Here's a shot of the anaolg (O2 clamp) and xtra injectors tab's. There are other settings and wiring associated with the setup. My map is a little on the rich side, but runs smooth. Still no pulling of the fuel, A/F's are the same as when I did the tuning. I personally think the car pulled harder the other setup, but this is nice also.

I have one question... does your AEngTemp 1X16 map moves from top to bottom? top = no load, and bottom = big load?
