The person who owned it must have been on vacation for a long time or left their car parked in the same spot without starting the motor for a long time. Bees don't just gather in a couple of hours like that.

well I beg to differ with you....they not only can...but WILL gather like that in a short period of time......

IF the bees are swarming for one reason or another, its not uncommon for them to light and attempt to take up residence in a nice secure spot....I am sure the bees thought the interior of the hoodscoop would give them some protection.

I have seen them gather in a larger group than that in the short span of 30 minutes. At work, myself and a small crew were doing some excavation with a backhoe and shut down and went to lunch...when we came back 45 minutes later the entire boom of the picker had been taken over by a swarm.

that is why you call a pro to come and get them....

no need to take a chance...especially here.....seeing as how the africanized varrity have made it here.

anytime they find a swarm that is somewhere they are not welcome they rope off the area and give them the chance to move on by themselves...if they don't we call in the bee control guy and he sprays them down....they send some of them off to Texas A&M university to have them tested to see if they are Africanized....

and get this....just in case you didn't know....if you mix up some soapy water...and spray the bees with it...they will die....no poison is needed.
