why is my MSP so damn slow?

I pulled on one 97 up one with intake exhaust 1 2 cars
stock one 4 5 cars
92 96 vtec with who knows how much s*** 1 car
umm dont tell me i cant beat preludes......
come to dallas ill show u how i launch and drive.....
if ur not pulling 15.3s at least ur not launching or shifting at the right rpm...im pullin at most 3500 rpm and gettin off the clutch where it barely peels off slightly... and for the kill list add a bunch of honda and eclipses.....

Well thats just bulls***. Either you thought he was racing by taking off at first and letting off or he was just a horrible driver, maybe a stock but one with an intake and exhaust you wont, unless if you were just assuming that. He couldve just had a muffler and an intake, and not had the whole exhaust system done, that I can believe. I have a 92 non vtech and raced a msp and beat it. I dont even have the amount of power that a 93 to 96 has, and I get destroyed by the 97's and up, and I know how to launch to. Been launching the same car for more than a year now. However many people on here have said that going right to the redline with the msp doesnt work as well as shifting a bit earlier, so maybe people are still learning that. If your talking about racing into curves and stuff ok then maybe I'll believe you, but in a straight line its not happening.

Have witnesses who saw the slaughter of a prelude by me...actually riding shot gun...ill get a video one when i prey on my next one...yup drag race to 100 off da line at the light just wooped the hell outta one last night...didnt let off he just got his ass handed to him...its always the driver excuse lmfao...i think if he was revving up and launching he was racing...ill destroy it straight curves whatever. bring one. ill be happy to show you some msp power.

Like I said unless if your popping the hood and looking at what each one has done it means nothing unless if like car and driver or sport compact takes the two stock cars and compares them. He could just have a big weed wacker muffler and it could sound like to you he has a lot of work done when its really just some lawn equipment in his trunk. The msp is much different with sound levels, its not a family car tuned low rider.

today I raced my friends GSX eclipse (awd turbo) and lost too... I must be doing somthing wrong... [/B][/QUOTE]

Hey man, don't feel bad about losing to a GSX (215 HP plus AWD. I used to have a GS-T and with just a few minor tweaks here and there, I was pulling high 13 sec quarter miles.

And that if he's reving he's racing is total bulls*** too. Some guys are just assholes who do that for no good god damn reason. And everyone is like oh I can destroy preludes a vtech one. I bet you 90% of those are the nonvtech models which look exactly like the vtech ones. No different looks at all.

I think the only hondas and mitsubishi's worth racing are preludes, s2000's, awd eclipse's, 3000gt's, and lancers, thats about it...

SuperSpud, you're definitely shifting too early. Wait til the tach gets a little past redline, then go for it... the stock tachs are off slightly, especially at higher RPM's... so what appears to be 7K is really 6500 or so.

My MP3 turbo is the same damn way.
Sometimes its on its game and pulls like crazy othertimes its A hell of alot slower.

I have noticed its the best after the car is fully wamr but hasn't been on for more then 15 minutes.

dude,, no way is the stock tach off 500 rpms.... thats just like,, A LOT

as far as shifting to soon... I was looking at the dyno chart form mod. mag. when they tested the MSP,, power completely DIES after 5500 rpms.. and at 6500,, it is like,, completely gone.. so shifting at 6500 would be too late..

Actually it being off 500rpms is not a lot. He's completely right with that. Mine supposedly redlines at 6400rpms and I can go right up to 7000rpms before the fuel cuts out (talking about the prelude.) As far as the power dying at 5500rpms thats what seems to be the rumor..

try turbo back exhaust for more top end power

and on the prelude thing i raced the last model prelude they all had vtec h22s and i beat the crud out this guy. yes he was going i can hear his damn chainsaw sounding intake. i know you have one and all but why does it bother u that a stock msp can beat a h22 with or without i/e.

Seriously? Cause I like preludes, and I hate all people that classify them under ricers. Thats what the s2000 is going to be considered in a couple of years why? who knows but the prelude was the s2000 on 92 to 01. Plus its just hard for me to imagine since I beat a msp but cant come close to beating the newest model prelude just seems a bit odd. I guess the guy driving the msp just really had no idea what the hell he was doing. While I was past him he was close enough to me to tell that he was trying to race me. Thats all not really saying your full of :bs: or anything like this was not in any way posted directly at you to flame you. Just kinda imagine defending the msp to someone else cause you own it, I've been in the process of trying to get a msp but insurance is being a b**** ($6500 a year) so as of now I still got my prelude so I guess I was just like defending your car thats all. Sorry if I implied anything else, truly didnt want to make trouble. It's actually becomming more comfortable the closer I get to the car to hear that its faster. Just wish I could find a good insurance company, got the stinking deposit on the car, I could take it home tommarow if it was I payed that but its just way too much.
