What springs to go with

I am thinking about lowering my car soon and I am wondering what springs to go with. I have looked at some coilover setups and I am not planning to pay an arm and a leg yet because it is my daily driver and coilovers are more performance oriented. I am just looking for a nice drop because I go to a lot of car shows and a drop would be nice. Plus, I had my car parked on the side of the road in front of my house today and noticed how much space is between the tire and the fender...not very appealing. I have heard mixed reviews about the Tein S techs, some say they are great while some say the back sits higher than the front(raked??). One guy I talked to even said the Tein S Techs messed up his suspension. Any suggestions on what springs I should go with. Also, some of the guys I hang out with(evo's, sti's, srt4's,) and mostly p5's, p3's, MSPs, and regular proteges all have a nice low stance and I have been nicknamed, the "DONK" because my car is the highest of all of them. lol. You can probably see the space in my sig.

I haven't installed the ones I just bought but the Espelir springs are supposed to be the best for these cars.

Check this link... www.protegefaq.net

There is a ton of info on springs there..... Tons of options.

the espelirs are nice but your car will be "raked" with them just like the teins if your msp has the stock struts

That's why I'm glad I hooked up some illuminas.... and I don't have an MSP to start with so I guess I'm just one of those trash talkers...

But... The FAQ will help alot and I know there is a big spring buyers guide in here too.

I have RS-R springs. I don't even know where the previous owner got them from tho. Apparently they are rare but the drop is perfect, IMO...

thanks for the replies, I have been debating between the Tein S techs and the Eibach sportlines but I believe the sportlines are almost gone as far as inventory goes. As far as I know, there are only two or three sets left. If possible, can you post pics of your setups with Tein springs or whatever type you have? Maybe that will help me with my decision. Thanks again

Pics are old (about 3 years, lol), but it shows the drop decently... I don't have much on my photobucket account, lol.

^ You can see the front bumper of my old fc in the driveway.... Makes me sad that I don't have it anymore, lol. (cryhard)

Espelirs if you have Tokico Blues or Illuminas (not the stock ones) for an even drop and great street handling

Im lovin the drop on yours..I talked to a well known person that used to be on this forum(recently banned/unichip tuner/ MSP owner)..you should know who I'm talking about. he suggested the sportlines over the Tein because of the even drop. I just wanted some more suggestions to see what everyone else has on their cars. This car is the second one I have seen with the sportlines and it looks nice.

also..I see you are in Fort Mill, SC. Before I joined the military I lived in Columbia, SC. Saw a few MSPs down there, mostly stock though.

yeah lol there are a few around. one spicy that is slightly modified. and a few others that are stock. i only see the spicy on a regular basis. and thanks for the compliments. get the sportlines. you will love them
