What price would you pay for a new P5 right now? (CDN$)

I've been doing some car shopping and I'm really interested in getting a P5.

There are still a couple sitting around at various Canadian Mazda dealers.

The price I've been "quoted" is around 24.5k (all inclusive - cash), or 26.8k (all inclusive - 0% financing), for automatic, A/C, and sunroof. These prices seem really high to me, considering I've been reading threads posted here where US dealers were letting them go for 13k USD before tax. Canadian dealers seem less willing to move on price.

What do you think? How *low* do you think I can get them to go down to?

BTW, a friend of mine bought one like a year ago for 24k out the door (but it was stick), so I think these prices are insane!

I also paid that out the door over a year ago, and I have both air & sunroof but stuck with the manual transmission because I hate autos.

I don't know what the conversion rate is right new between US$ and CND but just to give you an idea of what I paid for a 2003.5 just this past February. I paid $15,750 (before taxes and other charges) for an automatic with 6-disc CD changer, power roof, ABS, side airbags, sub, and bumper guard. That price was after a rebate of either $2000 or $2500 US. So you can use the current exchange rate to gage what you should pay. Well, the conversion is about 1.35, so about 22,000 based on that. However, these Pro5's are a popular vehicle in Canada and the dealers never had much of a problem selling them. Mazda USA had to offer incentives to sell.

The prices your are quoting are about what we paid for our new Pro5 last June.

I got my 2003 Pro5 last July and paid about $24,500. Mazda Canada had a promotion; 0% purchase financing for 48 months. Only options I got were A/C and sunroof. I think it was a pretty good deal at the time

Tell me if this is a ripoff!

Went to one of the dealers. They had a *DEMO* model.

It has 30,000km on the odometer (apparently the manager was driving it around), they gave me a price of $20.9k cash or $22.9k 0% financing. This still seems like a ripoff to me. My boyfriend thinks we can "try" to talk them to $19.5k cash or $21.5k financing, but we're not too sure. At this price, part of me would rather buy a new base civic cash for $20k out the door.

Is this a ripoff deal?

Ohh, a new P5. If they still have new P5s they are probably really willing to get rid of them. Maybe around $21000+?

Yes that is a ripoff.

I paid 24,700 for mine April 2003. Only option was A/C and the Mid. Blue color.

That's crazy. I bought a 2002 in Nov 2003, auto, sunroof, a/c...30K on it. Got it for $18k
