What kind of coilovers to get?

I have BC coilovers. Got them on sale, and a good set. Ride is pretty good considering how stiff they are. I am still trying to perfect the ride height, and right now am battle-ing a creaking noise, but I know its from my install, and not the set itself. I dont know how any of the other sets are though, but I would recommend these.

If I was to go a different route, my only other option would be H&R springs, and Bilstein shocks. That setup was only 85 dollars cheaper than what I got my new BC's for, and required a more involved install. I do not think I would go H&R coilovers as there is no damping adjustability, and they cost more. Given how much of a pain it is to actually adjust ride height (raising the car, removing front wheels, removing the rear shock lower bolt everytime you change height) and then waiting a week to settle, I am less inclined to alter ride height that i thought I would be. Therefore, [for what its worth to me], if you can get coilovers on sale, I recommend BC's, but if not, and you dont want to jack your car up every weekend for a month straight, go with shocks/struts.

I guess the real decision boils down to:
1. How much do you want to spend?
2. What kind of driving are you looking for? Autocross, or daily driver with attitude?

i wanted to bring this thread back from the dead in hopes i could get some current impressions on coilovers. i'm currently considering a set and would like some opinions.

thanks

I'm also considering a set... BC was an option I had my eye on for too. I'll sub and hopefully members with different sets can leave input.

I love my H&R coil-overs . . . I'm lowered just shy of 2". Although stiffer than stock, the ride is still very bearable (not overly stiff). They were relatively expensive, but well crafted German stuff always is.

I've never looked back.

Happy trails.
