"during Edmunds testing, the CT posted a 0-60 time of 10.4 seconds, which is 0.3 second slower than the Prius" maybe most of us don't need a car as fast as the MS3, but slower than a Prius?

Trust me, i made note of that same stat. but i think id still **** up a smart car from a light...which incidentally would be the slowest drag race known to man and we would still be holding up traffic behind us
in any case....i havent crunched all the numbers yet, but im sure on top of saving half the gas money (probably more) the insurance would be much less. the only part that is holding me back is that i dont owe on any vehicle right now, so all savings in terms of gas and insurance would have to offset a new car payment. not to mention the value of my hail-dented, 60k mile 08.5 gt

Gotta offset the guzzling hemi
but i got a call back from the dealer and he said the F package can only be had after getting other packages i dont want....so **** that thing
oh and on topic my speed has slow leaks in 3 of the tires. gotta fill them once a week....sucks

Why not a TDI or a new skyactiv 3? Hybrids are more work than they're worth.

Save a porsche 911 turbo, i will never buy german. and vw is at the bottom of that list. Im not completely sold on diesels....mostly because the fuel cost has done a 180 over the past few years and hasnt really changed. that used to be the cheapest fuel you could get and now its been up there with premium (in my area).
Trust me, i would love to get that audi a3...but it wont go any further than that
along with offsetting the cost of fuel for the hemi ram i have, i guess deep down i still have the idea of getting a cheap to run/own car so i can get some sort of motorcycle as well. i actually had to give up my old gixxer to help get the ms3 a couple years back
in any case, the lexus idea went out the window. the options got to be too expensive. im taking a look at the focus now.....for the time being. even thouh city mileage is nowhere near a hybrids

It when all you drive is city. i get about 4 more mpg than the truck

Because we now enjoy camping in the summer. we originally had a v6 tacoma, but when we got a camper i didnt want to strain it. got an amazing trade in on the taco and bought a 2010 ram
either way we were spending close to $150/week on gas at the peak of the price spikes and im merely tryinfg to weigh my options in getting a new vehicle to try to offset all the money we are (or potentially would be if gas goes way up again) spending on fuel
right now the only vehicle i think has the ability to do that is a hybrid. All this depends on if i can get immediate savings from doing a switch. the key is i have to find a vehicle that is cheap enough to buy AND fuel, is significantly cheaper to insure, and what kind of trade-in value i can get on my car
hypathetically, if my ms3 costs $100/week to fill up and insure, and i could find a vehicle that only costs $50/week to fill up, insure, and pay off, shouldnt i just go ahead and get rid of the ms3? the performance isnt worth it to me anymore (sign of age and having better things to spend money on)

Alright so I grabbed some ramps and wood to check out the race pipe. I was worried when I had my resonators removed the exhaust shop removed the rear flange and welded in the pipe, but they didnt. I slid under the car and looked at the job, waited a few minutes and said I'l pass. Im not too comfortable with the job at hand and being under the car in that tight space. So I made an appointment for thursday.
On another note me and a buddy put on my James Barone heavy shift knob and installed my corksport TIP. From start to finish the TIP took us 2 hours. Would have been done in 1 hour but I lost a nut and my buddy didnt secure a clamp on the little hose from the TIP to whatever it runs to. After the install I wasnt expecting too much and I was pretty much right. I guess for the money it was worth it, it idles a lot smoother and seems to spool up a little faster. As far as sound it didnt change too much, maybe slightly louder. I havent went WOT yet, I'm still waiting a few more miles, so I cant speak on the butt dyno. According to the dash hawk everything seems to be ok, no knock, afrs are right and fuel trims are good. Not a hard job at all, just tedious.

When it comes to trucks (in my opinion and experience) its worth it if you get more than you need. im not sure tue 4.7 could have handled the camper we have, but the hemi has absolutely no problem doing it. that, and we still have room to upgrade a campr down the road
the only thing is wish we had gotten the diesel instead....then we probably would never have had to worry about getting another truck again

Installed the LED load equalizers today to get rid of the rapid blinking caused by the LED turn signal bulbs. They work like a charm. The rapid blinking was driving me up a ******* wall. Pics in my build thread as usual.
