What goes here?

I just picked up a mazdaspeed protege as a daily. I got a really good deal on it but it needs some work. I was driving it last night and noticed that something came off of the intake box. I went to a local mazda dealership, and they couldn't even tell me. Could someone help me and tell me what goes here, and how do I go about ordering a new one. Thanks

do you mean what attaches to the inlet of the box? There should have been a runner that goes up toward the hood and attaches at that point to the box itself. However you are fine without it.

There is a bent black plastic pipe that attaches to prevent water from entering freely. They break easily and I had to glue mine back on.

yup, it's just a little L shaped pipe that was there, doesn't do anything. I just had one laying around since I got the car a long time ago. Just sent it to a guy in Puerto Rico.

Just order a short ram intake and be done with it.
