nice... here is a pic of my 20%. Is yours the titanium solar guard? I hope, or else the sun is going to kill your interior.

thanks

i dont think i have that titanium guard i know the UV rays are cut in half or something like that tho

lol 20 isnt legal in cali, and your not supposed to have anything on the front windows

i had to sign a disclaimer that i was aware of this in order for them to tint it, i figured that if im gonna get it tinted, i might was well get it tinted

know what i mean?

depending on how the police are in your area becareful, i know that ii have been pulled over a few times for my tint since i bought my p5 in AZ and moved to Washington the tint is alot darker than their used to...then aain if your doing nothing wrong they usually wont waste their time with just a ticket for tint, i have been pulled over 5 times now with no ticket because there was nothing besdies my tint they could get me for.

It also depends on the type of car you have. My tint isn't legal on the font windows but the cops don't even look at me since the MS6 looks more adult-like. The cops around here target sport compacts.

how does a cop pull you over for a tint job?

if hes in opposite traffic, hed have to flip a u turn, which is way to much work for a fix it ticket,

if hes behind me he cant see my front windows, and if i pull up next to a police car i roll my windows down anyway.

how exactly do u get a ticket for it? is it only when your caught doing something illegal?

Copys have no problem pulling a U-turn. However, most of the time they will get you on the highway. As they pass, if they can't see in the car they'll find a reason to pull you over. In the city, they may see you from a parking lot as you drive through an intersection. Again, if they can't see in and at least count the number of heads in the car...they'll find a reason to pull you over.

They typically will pull you over for other violations and then they will give you the ticket for the tint if they notice it or care to enforce it. I think for the most part they wont give you a ticket unless like I said catch you for something else then they will add it. It is illegal here in IL also you can't tint the front windows. Hence why I have yet to do it. I'm too chicken and cheap.

I've been pulled over twice in the last week JUST because of my tint. I'm almost sure before I had another exhaust installed the noise of the old one got their attention, and I knew the laws over here state that it can't be darker than 35%...but hey, if i'm gonna tint it, might as well be at least 20%. Back in the day the only tint I used was 5%...and only got pulled over ONCE IN 10 YEARS!!!

I'm getting mine 5% done on tuesday....... and my girl has had 15% on her copper mazda6 and has only been pulled over once in about a year since she's had the tint.....but that was cause she was speeding, so the cop wrote her for the tint too...

now that i think about it I might just get 15% like she has......I live in florida btw, I can have 5% on the rear windows but the law says no darker than 28% on the front windows and no tint whatsoever on the windshield (save that little solar flare strip they usually put across the top of the windshield on cars) and the rear windshield i believe can't be darker than 20%

like chuyler said..... if a cop can't see inside that'll give them a reason to pull you over. Car looks nice btw, especially the white with the 20% (drinks)

why thank you sir

so basically in florida

if you abide by the state laws

your car windows can be a cornucopia of colors

nothing on the windshield
28 on the front
a limo tint on the rear windows
and a 20 on the back?

lol

in cali i usually just drive with my windows down anyway, only when its cold/windy/night do i roll them up. havent had a problem so everythings straight.

next up is springs

then this summer im considering an exhaust and im also gonna get a new grille. that chrome strip is obnoxious

Yeah florida law is a little weird like that......cops will issue you a massive ticket if there is tint on the front window...... as for the 28% tint requirement...... i don't know about california but cops in FL will carry a little pen light that has a digital readout that tells them how much light is going through your windows...... and most people basically just do even tint all around, like my GF who is 15 all around, I was considering 10 or 5 all around but I might just considering 15 all around now...... don't want to get stopped by too many cops and my car is basically black cherry so it's already a dark color as is.
