So this has a very high potencial of being a stupid question, but while at the wreckers today i found a box in a trunk of a car containing a Garrett turbo and OEM headers. After getting home, i cleaned it up and looked up the number on the side (10068532 and 465365-2) and it came up as a OEM Turbo off a 88 Pontiac Grand AM. Slightly dissapointed it was not something better, but still curious if installing a turbo like this is even possible on my currently N/A Protege? Mostly because well i have the turbo, and if i dont need to spend the money on one i wont. I couldnt come up with any other specs on the turbo as to what potencial boost power it would be, but the 88 grand am only put out 160hp from what im reading.

you could try. I would think the flanges would not line up though. I put a turbo on my msp off of a skyline and ended up having to spend about 1000 on custom work to make it fit.

Turbo's are universal really. Its just having to fab the correct flanges to match it. But if your gonna go through that work, id do it for something better then a grand am turbo.
