Mazda Telematics - What is it?

Is this data collection? I noticed it on the stickers when I was at the dealer looking for a 2025 CX-5.

Is this the thing you have to call Mazda corporate to disable?

If it's data collection (which i assume it is), what is it collecting?

Let me get this straight - you pay them to collect data on you and your passengers because they offer you a few options that most people don't really need anyway.

I didn't, when it expired I never paid a dime, and unlike many things ie XM radio and other subscriptions where you get bombarded with renewal offers I did not receive a single renewal offer from Mazda..I got an initial notice saying when the last day was and never got another notification.

Even if you don't subscribe after the free period doesn't Mazda continue to collect info on you and your driving habits? I think I recall some posters having to call Mazda to disable that part.
