Ultimate Racing Here...

haha, dude im not bitching, i hope he makes the world.

I was just letting him know - since he might not already - that there is a vendor who specializes specifically in proteges, if he thought he was gonna be the only fabricator of turbo kits and whatnot he would probably expect to make a ton of money off protege owners.

I hadnt heard that terry abandoned the msp tho, i thought he was still plannin other kits.

oh well, either way, guess I was just lookin out for the well being of this new vendor as opposed to the aftermarket for the msp. If he made something that you guys all requested thinking he was the only maker of it and then found out that half of you bought the same thing from spoolin instead, he probably wouldnt want to bother making any more parts for the protege crowd since they would be seen as an "unreliable" market.

either way - welcome to the board again and ill look forward to seeing what you come out with

HARD PIPE KIT FOR EXISTING INTERCOOLER!!!!!

a downpipe back exhaust or a good quality axle back setup would be great also!!!

Also, I know of something that would make money due to the few available now and the ease of production, you need to manufacture a spray bar for the intercooler but one that has anular fittings that can be used for water or nitrous.

Even though the MSP is a limited production car, there's still possibilities for money to be made.

I got mine @ the end of November and started looking for pretty much everything all you fellow MSP owners have been asking for. I found this site and started to ask around, drooling and salivating at the thought of free-flowing 3" downpipes and phat intercoolers and piping. There were rumors, there were 3" pipe teases, but in the end all that was actually promised was an overpriced piece of aluminum ducting with a cone on the end.

I gave up asking, wishing and having wet dreams about it and figured hey, I'll wait a year and if the aftermarket hasn't come to the rescue.. off to the custom fabricators I go.

What I'm trying to say is that probably 90% of all MSP owners feel the same way. Hell, look at the car we bought..... Where is the one area that NEEDS work !!POWER!!.

I could live forever without touching a thing in the suspension, the wheels are one of the only "tuner" OE sets I wouldn't replace. The stereo is more than enough (i would of ordered mine without if I had the option) for me.

About the only thing I would change not related to power would be the seats.

Whether you agree with the my opinion of the stereo or handling I'm sure you can agree with needing more power.

MSP owners are ENTHUSIASTS from the start, so chances are, if a company actually sat down and engineered a capable product for a reasonable price, those products would most likely end up on at least 5000 of the 6000 MSP's (I'm not sure if that's the actual production #).

So in other words, count me in for any power adding components you can make. It would definately be refreshing to be able to order the parts from the TRUE NORTH STRONG AND FREE.

Unreliable?? Have you seen all the owners of MSP's on just this site? There is like 100 Plus all the soon to be 03.5 owners. This is not an unreliable market. Everyone that buys a Mazdaspeed car is looking to get a fast car and probley 99% of the people are looking to do upgrades.

Yes you are bitching. So far we have that I know of 2 people that make parts for the Mazdaspeed Protege. Spoolin that makes one turbo "upgrade kit" which is 3,000 bucks and if I wanted to spend that much on just a turbo kit I would have kept my MP3.
Then we have Darryl and Ultimate Racing that is ASKING US for what to make. It isnt hard for me to decide who desirves my money and attention. I wish that could be said for you Slug.

Oh for pete's sake - I've never seen a board with people wound so fing tight. The guy backs off and clarifies and you're still jumping down his throat: if ya gotta b**** about it, take it to PM's and QUIT CLOGGING UP ALL THE THREADS.

The more vendors the better: competition = good for the consumer.
<shrug>

Everyone agrees we need more power. There's probably no turbo upgrade in the cards for me, and while the intake/exhaust upgrades will help, we need to find a hard fix for our REAL problem: the fuel management.

Nail that one down and you'll get EVERYONE'S attention.

I'm sure this is all getting lost in the bickering here and I realize it's in the MazdaSpeed forum, but... whatever.

Here's what I'd like to see:

C.A.R.B. legal exhaust cams (now that we can't get the jdm ones anymore)
C.A.R.B. legal header for P5
affordable C.A.R.B. legal turbo for the auto P5

P5! P5! P5!
C.A.R.B.! C.A.R.B.! C.A.R.B.!

:flip: Shut the hell up no one asked you a damn thing. He is the one bitching about anther person making parts for our cars. God forbid anyone challange the great Spoolin.

You need to quit cloggin up the threads with your useless opinions about a conversation you were never in.

Oh yeah and for Slug... hahahah to you too.

The only reason he even said anything about this is because he wanted to rattle some sabers. Well mission accomplished. Now that you have your buddy on here defending your honor you can laugh it up some more.

This is what I get for e-mailing someone and convicing them not to forget about making parts for our cars...

Here was a guy ready to drop us compleatly and I told him about this site and how he can help us and here come to assholes BITCHING about it.

WHAT IS GOING ON??!!

Ok, I'd be interested in a turbo back 3" exhaust that had high flow aftermarket cats so it wouldn't set the Check Engine Light.

I'd also be interested in a hard piping kit for the intake.

(I live where they inspect and dyno the cars to meet environmental regs, so CARB certification helps me get past the gate keepers every 2 years to renew my tags. yea, I know I can take it back to stock once every 2 years, but that's a pain.)

Thanks for asking.

this is my only request. it seems that the people that are working on making aftermarket parts for the mazdaspeed only want to do it in limited, pre paid runs. i never have any kind of money to just sling around at a one time Group Buy whim. just to get the Injen intake i have to sell some of my other stuff. my point is that your stuff looks really high quality and i wish that there would be some company to stand behind us mazdaspeed owners and provide us with longterm aftermarket support, so that some of us can save up for mods, think them out and not be rushed into buying things only because someone is making a few or have to make hasty commitment to a group buy, do you get what im saying? :)

AMEN!! im a poor man living in a dream! but want good quality parts that will be around till i get the money.

We've never had anyone claim a warranty on our products. However, I will be honest in saying that we had a recall on Greddy E-Manage units for the S2000 turbo kit as Greddy had released a new firmware for it.

Doh. What issue did the bad firmware cause?

I think if this guy was really serious he would actually respond. I think he is BS'ing. If he cared about our feedback he would be posting a lot more than 4 post which were made all on one day

give him some time, I cant see why he would take time to come on here and give us a few substantial posts and say he was considering making parts for our cars just for s**** and giggles.

keep in mind that he doesnt own a protege, and doesnt love proteges, and his business isnt dependent on proteges, so while he may be considering making parts for our cars, he probably isnt as "into" this thread or this forum as we all are :)

most people dont check this forum multiple times a day every day for new posts like some of us do :)

Coming from the NA sedan crowd.. I'd love to see:
1.) Emission legal headers
2.) 2.5" Cat-back
3.) Emission legal cats
4.) High-Compression Pistons or overall Head work (port/polish) become available..
