Welcome aboard. Toronto...hmmmm, need a test sled?

1. 3 Inch SS Turbo Back exhaust
2. Intake (short ram or CAI)
3. Engine management (everyone who is trying states the car runs way rich)
4. Any bolt ons that will actually add power and that won't toss my warranty out the window.

Since you are in Toronto you know that there are a shitload of P5's and proteges around and most will be willing to spend money in upgrades and mods. So anykind of N/A applications or F/I for Proteges and P5's would be great.

Become a member on toprotege.com (Toronto Protege Club) and I am sure you will get tons of feedback.

I personally would be interested in any N/A applications to boost HP.

this is my only request. it seems that the people that are working on making aftermarket parts for the mazdaspeed only want to do it in limited, pre paid runs. i never have any kind of money to just sling around at a one time Group Buy whim. just to get the Injen intake i have to sell some of my other stuff. my point is that your stuff looks really high quality and i wish that there would be some company to stand behind us mazdaspeed owners and provide us with longterm aftermarket support, so that some of us can save up for mods, think them out and not be rushed into buying things only because someone is making a few or have to make hasty commitment to a group buy, do you get what im saying? :)

Good point Dex.

Not to mention, it would be nice to read some reviews of a product after people have used them for a while.

I like to research products, not buy on a whim.

Case in point, i'm looking for a new Mountain bike, i've been reading every friggin review i can find, part by part.

Yes I have O.C.D.

I'm with you Dex! Very well said...

Just because it's a limited run (although Mazda seems to be willing to make more and more 'speeds, especially with the upcoming 6 and Miata), doesn't mean there won't be long term interest - eventually these won't all be 'new cars' to people - (although they will be 'new' to them), and there will always be someone out there ready to splurge on a nice aftermarket whatever...

My hope is the same - that companies don't jump to make stuff and then abandon production of said goodies altogether...

just my rambling, 2 cent opinion.

I have a Turbo XS Bypass Valve on my stock piping right now. It is easy to setup.
really? hey, hit me up on my AOL,, we need to talk.. I really want to do that..

its superspudUH

speaking for the P5 community in Canada, I think a quality turbo kit would be awsome, but also something for N/A engines...

I would love to be able to order from Toronto, as it's only a few hours away from Montreal and it won't cost me anything on the duties at the border...

3 inch turbo back with a high flow cat so i can pass emissions
FMIC with hard pipes and an HKS blow off
Intake

Greddy Type S BOV
Hard piping for intercooler
FMIC
Downpipe
Turbo back exhaust
Cam gears
gauge pods for our cars? (if possible)
An engine management unit
Intakes CAI and short ram

That's all I got

oh and eventually in the future a upgraded turbo kit would be nice.

ok, not trying to be an asshole, and im just as happy to see a tuner taking interest in our cars as the next guy, but honestly, Im not sure there is a lot of money to be made off us....

one reason could be the injen CAI, you look at the initial interest in that and the number of units sold in the group buy and its a little discouraging.

another is the fact that there are only 6k of our cars, and he has what I would see as a formidable competitor in spoolin. Spoolin has years of experience in developing turbo kits along with everything else for the protege specifically and I believe he has a couple in his area that he can test them on (not sure if he ended up deciding on a MSP for his new car or he may have one of his own too)

Spoolin already has a turbo kit under development for the MSP -I think almost in production - and is now supposed to be working on hard pipes and i believe a FMIC for the stock turbo.....

if you want to, flame me a little abuot this and ill delete it, but if I was going to invest time and money in making parts for people ideally turning a profit, this is somethin that would scare me away.

by all means, everyone, including ultimate, do what you want, just tryin to give you a little objective info here.

hell you might even find that the biggest market for you will be making turbo kits for mp3s and protege5s for your fellow canadian as the US prices spool sells his for seem to be a little rich for most canadians' blood so to speak.

at any rate, welcome to the forum, and godspeed

I think a big part of the reason he can be successful is that he is in Canada, let alone in Toronto. Any idea how many Protege's there are around here? Let alone the almighty Canadian dollar (sarcasm). Oh yeah, and then the fact that we get ***** when importing stuff.

I think it's a great idea seeing if there is interest first, like Ultimate is doing.

I do hear you though that Spoolin has an obvious head start, and no i'm not flaming you. You raise valid points, especially about the Injen deal.

I think the reasons for the loss of interest in the Injen were:
1. it took too bloody long
2. it costs too bloody much
3. knowledgeable people here explaining that it may not be the "be all end all" (Kwitski, etc.)
4. Cheaper ways to make power (guys with K & N's, the Joe P MBC etc.)
5. Getting it wrong at first (Spicy's), furthering the delay's.

I don't pretend to be a tuner, i'm not, but like i said, i like to research stuff first. I'm soaking up everything i can.

Just my $0.02

some of you MSPers wont like this...but I hhave to say it..The money is not in the MSP..its in the Protege..A part made for a protege(nonturbo)engine will be applicable to the Mp3, Protege5, ES...Thats 3 types of cars, 3 types of buyers with one product..Just something to think about..

Well first off Slug the idea is to get more people to make parts for all proteges. Not just MSP's. That way prices go down. I will admit I was first in line when I heard Injen had an intake, then when the group buy came up and it was 250 bucks for a damn tube and filter!!?? What are they trying to pull? That is b.s. on top of that, WHEN THE HELL IS THAT COMING OUT?? It has taken way too long for this thing. Plus When it does come out I will probley be able to find it on some website for way cheaper than 250.

Second, no offense to spoolin but he already posted a thread about getting a msp to make mods/parts for then because he said there was a lack of intrest he decided to get a S2000 instead. Yes he does have a kit for our car however does he have anything else for it? Is there anything else inwork by him for it? From what I got from that thread he was totally dismissing making anything for the MSP.

Here we have somebody that is willing, in fact ASKING US for what to make for our cars and there has to be someone that bitches, I just knew there would be at least one person to say something negative about this. I just didnt expect it to be a fellow MSP owner...

1. hard pipes for stock IC
2. an intake that is way cheaper than injen's over-priced piece of aluminum w/ a filter.
3. downpipe and exhaust
4. intercooler spray kit (water)

plug-and-play is always great when possible:D
