tweeters and amps

Anybody with the 2002.5 install aftermarket tweeters? The reason I ask is beacause I wanted to know if they fit in that triangle area where the mirror is. Also does anybody know if I can buy those from the dealer since I have a 2002?

Now I have a few questions about installing amps. When you are installing multiple amps is it ok and safe to connect both power wires directly to the battery? I've read of people using a power distributor and connecting the power wires to the amp to that and the distributor to the battery. Also when you connect the remote turn on wire is it ok to splice both of them from the two amps together? I heard that if you draw too much power from the deck or something then the amps won't work.

I have my two amps running off of a 4 gauge wire going to a disturbution block from radio shack, its just easyer this way, and your dont have to run any extra wire, as far as the remote wire, I have mine split and I have not ever had a problem, if your worried you could have the remote wire run to a relay, and use the relay to turn on your amps, but why do all that extra work?

I already have an amp wiring kit so I'm just wondering if its going to hurt in any way by running 2 separate power wires for the amp.

Yes you can install aftermarket components/tweeters up front. your best bet is going to go for the whole component system. The factory tweeters are .75" I put 1.0" JL audio in mine with no problems.

You should have no problem buying the plastic mirror backing parts with the holes that come in the 2002.5/2003 from your dealer.

I dont see why it would hurt, I dont really see how it could help either

here is a guide to choose the correct gauge, I found itHere

Damn...I went to the dealer on my free period to find out how much those sail panels with the tweeter area costs and you wouldn't believe what the guy told me. $150 EACH! Maybe it was a mistake but thats alot of money for two pieces of plastic.

Unbelievable. You might want to try checking out http://www.mazdastuff.com and give them a call, they generally have the best prices on OEM parts. Either that or you can find someone who has put in kick panels and see if you can get a trade?

I decided to go to a local shop to have them flush mount it on my door somewhere. I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow and its only going to cost $40. Big difference from $300 down to $40 to have my tweeter mounted.

i have a set of boston acoustics rc-620 component speakers which converted my tweeters from .75" to 1" and my 5x7 door speakers to 6.5" speakers. you cant even tell that ive had my speakers upgraded. it looks axactly how it did before i had it done.

I think the stock tweeter is 3/4" but I can not verify that yet.
Tou should be able to get the triangle peice form the dealer but get a real components set of speakers to replace the door speaker and the tweeter.

It is safe to wire the power wires each to the battery, so long as each wire has a fuse within 12-18" of the battery. Distroblocks are very useful and easier to use then running 2 wires many times.

Any head unit has enough power to trigger to remote turn ons. 3 is pushing it and 4 you should definitly have a relay.

Correct. The stock tweeter is 3/4" and a 1" tweeter fits in just fine. I have a 6.5" JL Audio XR component set in front doors. all in the factory spots with no problems.
